Want reasons for why this generation lost their toughness? Look no further than their listening habits! Whah! Whah! My Daddy didn't hug me, I'm too damaged to make it in life!
As soon as the promotional tour began Cobain would fall into a deep slump & complain that all this attention just wasn't what he got into boxing for. :crying:
There are very few musicians Kurt Cobain could ever beat the fuck out of. Jarvis Cocker just happens to be one of them ::
Word. You're a good man, plus you probably don't listen to Pulp. Hut is ill and I hope he gets better one day :(
Bet even Jarvis Cocker got more pussy. Cobain would turn off even the most committed groupie with all his crying on dates and constantly asking the girl 'what do you see in me, Cindy? I'm such a fuck up, seriously....even my penis is ugly, ugly like my shrivelled, buried soul! I'll just hurt you and leave you empty inside, like my Daddy did to me!'
what's the difference between Alexander Ovechkin and Courtney Love? Ovechkin showers after three periods
Pulp are ok. I think you'll find they have an album in the RYM top 100 of the 90s (unlike certain shite English contemporaries who'll remain nameless) and had another ranked in the top 50 art-pop releases ever too, in the same 40-50 passage as John Cale, Nick Cave, Captain Beefheart, Bowie, Iggy Pop, Tom Waits etc. Aka, they can be grouped together with good music & not garbage like said English contemporary. Because Jarvis has pretty good taste, interesting perspectives on every day life wrote good, intelligent lyrics etc. :mj: And Common People is an all time great pub juke box/pop song, maybe the very best of the 90s.:bears: OK band.
I won't argue Pulp's case in any argument other than against (*shite English contemporary*), who are the worst cultural sewage in the history of western music.
Hut won't admit it, but despite "Parklife" being an admittedly atrocious song, it would still easily be Pulps best if they'd wrote it
Common People's probably the defining UK pop hit of the 90s, probably beside Live Forever. It might well have been written with Damon in mind, ironically. Gafawing, mockney fan-dan. Class tourists all adore the mod scene don't they, from the 60s to today. Swagger and drop your H's Damon, pretend you never went to school.
Common People :: It's probably Paranoid Android to be fair, and then maybe an Oasis number. Although any self-respecting list would have Parklife (as awful as it is) above Common People
Paranoid Android wasn't a mainstream pop song. And if you honestly think Parklife's better than Common People then you are beyond intervention!
