I love Tarentino but hateful 8 sucks. By far his worst. Inglorious basterds also sucked but everything else is gold .
Death Proof is gold? You think Django Unchained is gold but Basterds sucks? They're basically the same movie but in different historical settings
Death Proof is fun as Hell to watch! Probably his worst movie in terms of quality, but entertaining as Hell.
Bar Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds was the only other one I really enjoyed, the rest were just fine or meh (django and deathproof)
Jackie Brown, Dogs, Basterds, and Pulp are all classics. Jackie Brown is my favorite. Death Proof, like I said, ain't great but it's fun. The rest are underwhelming. Django was simply Taratino's excuse to say n!gger 50 million times, and I have no urge to watch it again. Both Kill Bill's were mediocre imo... could never get into them.
Django was rubbish, got bored and switched it off. First Kill Bill was great, didn't really think much of the second.
Lock, Stock... is a MUCH better film than Snatch. Snatch is a good watch, but it is a near straight rip-off from Lock, Stock... MTF
Snatch is alright. I liked it the first time I saw it, but upon rewatch it's really not that great. It's merely an "okay" crime thriller. I have yet to see Lock, Stock. Maybe I should make a point to watch it next week. It probably is better than Snatch. As far as UK crime thrillers go, it's hard to imagine any of them competing with The Long Good Friday and Get Carter... both masterpieces.
Get Carter (the real one) is an absolutely flawless masterpiece. Go watch Lock, Stock...It's a good film. MTF
Yeah, the Get Carter remake with Stallone was truly awful. I'll watch Lock, Stock sometime next week.
Didn't watch it. Will never watch it. I know it is an absolute abortion without having seen a second of it. MTF
In typical Stallone fashion, he mumbles his way through the movie with none of Michael Caine's ability. The remake is also a lot more "tame" than the original. Caine's version of Carter was truly a sadistic psychopath... Stallone's Carter was soft by comparison. Ironically, Caine makes a brief appearance in the remake... the fact that he wanted to be associated with it was surprising.
"The Last Puerto Rican Alive, starring... Michael Caine as Hector Avila." "What can I say? I'm the last bloody mofongo eater left. Pass me a fuckin empanada, will ya?"
I shall be the judge myself upon my next week viewing. But like I said, Snatch really isn't anything special. It's like a 6.5, or at best 7/10 movie. Which is to say, it's not bad... but it sure ain't great.
I probably like it more then you. I might also be perceiving it different then others because I actually saw "Snatch", before I saw "Lock, Stock...", which just seemed like a lower budget, less interesting version of "Snatch" to me.
Tarantino is like if Kevin Smith were obsessed with the kitschiest aspects of 70s cinema and gratuitous violence OR Kevin Smith is Tarantino if he was a comic book dork Either way... Pair of wankers ... I hate their dialog where every character speaks in snarky editorials ... Tarantino is slightly less awful mainly because he usually steals some long ago filmmaker's good ideas to build his geeky bullshit over Ritchie makes Tarantino look like Orson Welles
Lol. I would agree that Taxi Driver is the much better film. Pulp Fiction fanboys are convinced its the GOAT movie in history.
