Thats possible. But in the end Tszyu still gets stopped. I'm not a Tszyu hater at all, but his losses to Philips & Hatton are evidence that he was a front-runner. Those were the only two fights of his career when he was faced with annversity vs fighters who could take his punch, and hit him back, and both times he folded. He'd fold vs Pryor as well.

You're a hater. Just admit it, it will free you.

You have hate in your heart.

Speaking of Tszyu, in his prime @ 140 I admit he's a very tough matchup for Floyd. Not saying I would pick him over Floyd, but he woulda given Floyd alot of trouble.

LOL. No, i dont hate Tszyu. I was mad when he iced Judah, only because at that time Zab was one of my fav fighters(what a mistake) but I admit Kostya was very good in his prime. But not good enough to beat Pryor.

BTW, geez...he didn't "fold" vs. Phillips. He was STOPPED. He was senseless against the ropes.

    Why do people say this?

As for Hatton-Tszyu -- front runner means he would have folded after rounds 4-6...he didn't and if anything he had some good late rounds.

Why he didn't come out for round 12 is beyond me and he should be criticized for it, sure enough. He DID fold.

But he wasn't a "front runner" a la Tyson. That is incorrect, IMHO.

I do think Tszyu's been historically overrated, but his place has seemed to come back into focus recently.

    Peace.

 No worries....I agree; but I think it would have been a very good match-up.

    Peace.

You make a good point about Philips. But still the fact is that Vince was able to take Tszyu's punch, and fire back and eventually, Tszyu was beaten as a result of that.

And I like how you just had to add in Tyson's name.:flip:

    Tyson>>>>>>>Tszyu

yeah because PBF wouldn't be able to make Tszyu quit. he's not physical enough. instead, it'd be 12 rounds of Tszyu having plenty of room and plenty of time to set up his arrow of a right hand. he'd of course be losing on the cards regardless of what happens, and could only win if he's able to really hurt PBF and either stop him, or have him so spooked that he goes into a shell.

Xplosive is the WORST hater of certain fighters on the board. He picks fights with his heart and not his head. Notorious for this.

I am a self confessed Tszyu hater. I do realize of course, that Tszyu is not the bum I made him out to be, but he was overrated as I always claimed, and definitely a front runner.

He plain quit vs hatton. I am not a sicko who wants to see fighters get brain damaged, for example I thought the recent Vazquez - Marquez was a perfect stoppage, but Tszyu just plain quit. He pulled a freitas.

Pryor would just beat Tszyu down like Hatton did and stop him late.

He would have given Floyd not much trouble at all. His timing and accuracy would have won him a couple of rounds, but ultimately he would have been the victim of a merciless potshotting session just like most of the others.

Floyd eats patient fighters for breakfast, guys like Chico who pick their punches carefully and stalk forward, rather than steam forward, do not have the style to beat Floyd.

Tszyu was a methodical stalker, not a bumrushing pressure fighter like hatton.

Chico was one of my favorite fighters, but he wasnt in the same league as Tszyu. Kostya was much better at cutting off the ring than Chico, was a better thinker, had a better chin, and had quicker hands from the outside. Once again I'm not saying he wins, I agree for the most part Floyd would pot shot and outbox him, I just think he'd give Floyd alot of trouble. Floyd would have to be on his A game to beat Tszyu, and his hands would have to stay healthy. If he hurt his hands vs Tszyu he'd have certainly lost.

Agreed. Poor Kostya, he didn't even realize he was getting his ass kicked.

Thats why I clearly said fighters who could TAKE Tszyu's punches and fire back beat him. Hurtado had the power to fireback, but his chin was too weak. Hurtado made Whitaker look like Tyson, thats how bad his chin was.

Kostya became a champion for the first time, by defeating a fighter (Rodriguez), knocked out COLD by Whitaker.

    Anyone notices a pattern?
