Oh, and in Sly's defence, one "Sly year" equals 25 thousand "human years". So, if you multply 20 thousand Sly years by 25 thousand human years, you'll get 5 billion years, which is right on point :dunno:
dsimon writes:  ::. Stafford is also stuck in the middle ages regarding philosophy as he uses medieval arguments to try to prove the existence of God.:notallthere: According to your time scheme D when Stafford is ten years old he will discover Descartes.
:: Sonofabitch! You're cool though dsimon...an intelligent dude for sure...and I'd be certain to resurrect our God/evolution debates very soon (still unbeaten in those )....but this attraction with have to feel the wrath for having the audacity for calling me out unprovoked. Does he fucking think he's untouchable? Does he really think this would go unpunished? :: Motherfucker's E-DEAD!!!!:warning:
Yeah I also thought that was funny :: I've whipped his damn ass. Even in this thread I'm whipping his black ass :laughing: :cheer:
:: :: exactly. Any objective reader can see that Sly has been outgunned time and time again in those discussions but since he refuses to admit he is wrong, he thinks he has "won". Just like Orion used to do
Try to remember that the bible was written and translated and copied in an era of no computers typewriters or any other form of mass print media. Men copying by hand literally millions of words of text .... mistakes were bound to happen. Where would they most likely happen ? In the most repetitive areas of the bible where you in fact find the most glaring mistakes. The message of it however remains pretty clear.
Why didn't the Holy Spirit help them out? According to church it helped people to choose the correct religious books into Bible (ie leave out the ones that wouldn't have served the church well)
Credit where credit is due! That is a very good and well informed question. Personally...I'm not getting into religion with a rigid CHristianity hating atheist...but I respect that question.
Do you think all atheists (or even agnostics ) hate Christianity? Personally I do not believe in a higher being but I am fascinated with religion in general. I am a non-believer who chooses to ask questions. The only thing I hate about religion is their fanatical nut jobs who don't know what they are talking about, I am sure you would agree with me on that.
How about you let it die and just watch this: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/id/program.html Watch all 12 chapters, it's interesting even if your agenda clouds your reasoning ::
I was informed they go through rigorous copying precedures and they are not alowed to deviate a single letter :dunno:
I agree completely with this post. Sly is again putting words into my mouth, as if his own wasn't big enough
Yep, only religion would make you question radiometric dating of 4 billion year-old rocks found on earth. Only religion.
