Ironically, he was one of the very very few SS men who was acquitted of ALL charges against him at the Nuremberg Trials. He may have been a closeted fag {he never married but the War and shit might have got in the way ::} but it seems he never ever took a liberty in the field of battle, shot enemy prisoners, Jews, etc. For an SS-Mann and associate of Himmler....this is quite the departure.
