Do you realize that Dana himself uses Twitter as a promoting tool? Let's not act as if this is out of the realm of possibility.

OK, so according to a source wishing to remain anonymous, Dana White encouraged Rashad Evans to use his Twitter account to lob personal insults at Jon Jones.

I said that Dana did not allow certain song choices to be played, which is true. I know that licensing is a factor regarding walkout song choices, however, I also know for a fact that Dana has not allowed fighters to play certain songs that they wanted because he didn't approve of them.

I don't remember ever saying that Dana picked all of the entrance music. I know that is not true. I said he has not let certain fighters have their choice. Such as Dong Hyundai Kim and Tamdan McCrory.

 

Yeah, but you also claimed it was all Heavy Metal and that's just not true.

I'm sure the promotion might say we don't want "Me So Horny" by Too Live Crew or some thing like that from time to time. But I doubt Dana White personally tells each fighter what their entrance song is going to be.

From picking each song to starting every feud, it's amazing Dana has any down time.

Regardless, we are getting off point here. I had originally said that "Dana Was encouraging it for sure".

Now obviously I am not certain that Dana put them up to it. What I was saying was that, as much as he bugs me, Dana is a smart bastard who wants to hype shit. And judging from stuff that has gone on in the past coupled with things I have heard/seen, I am very confident that Dana pushes for this type of thing. Not saying it's wrong, just that I don't buy into it.

 

Good point. I'm not doubting that the feud has some validity to it, I just feel that Dana may be encouraging the additional antics.

 

thats fair, but come on Bob, you and I both know every promoter on the planet encourages feuds amongst matched up fighters. It sells tickets.

 

Of course. I already stated that Dana is a very smart man who knows how to grow his business. I just hate when they appear blatantly fake and then after the show claim "it was all to hype the fight".

 

You do realize that fighters use this excuse all the time to save face after losing.

I remember the love fest in the cage after the last Ortiz-Shamrock fight where Ken called it all marketing and how they made a ton of money. Bullshit. That feud was the real deal and Ken got his ass kicked so what else is he gonna say?

 

I have heard fight winners say it as well.
