It happens all the time when a guy doesn't make weight.

The IBF used to/still does(?) have a weight gain limitation for their title fights. Personally, I think it's stupid for a sanctioning body to have the requirement, but it's a fair issue for the fighters themselves to negoatiate about.

Viewing numbers for Rigo-Agbeko were less than for Kirkland-Tapia. The guy is such a talent but the casual fans won't buy tickets to see him, or pay to watch on tv. Language barrier there also and the fact that he's no Floyd when it comes to selling his fights. It's a shame he gets so much stick.

he's too good for his own good. the guy he fought seems to be getting no blame here for the fight being dull. the media slanders the guy nonstop prior to the fight i doubt that helped his ratings. not to mention two bigger name guys fighting on showtime at the same time his fight was on. many dont like him so they just turned it off after kirkland.

if they cant make the lomachenko fight then i doubt HBO will air him again. he should go to europe and finish out his career there to make some money.

Why doesn't Rigo come over here to the UK and fight Carl Frampton in 2014? If that takes place in Belfast it'll sell out there. More exposure for Rigo and we know Frampton is well liked in the UK. That fight will probably get a shed load of tv viewers too.

Until Rigondeaux gets beat, he can't be ignored by HBO. Broner, at times, looks like a p4p talent, but Rigondeaux is a p4p talent and it's hard to see HBO letting Showtime get him.

Throw in the fact that there are all kinds of name (and worthy) opponents around his weight class, and Rigondeaux figures to be on premium tv for a long time.

Granted, HBO punted on the heavyweights, but they didn't have the name opponents and the ones who did have names didn't have the ability to present a challenge to the Klitschko's. Rigondeaux's situation is just not like that.

Yep...Considering Golden Boy/Al Haymon/Floyd have ALREADY Defected to Showtime, THE LAST Thing HBO Needs is for Bob Arum to Develop a Working Relationship w/Showtime, in the Name of Televising Rigondeaux...

Uh oh, shocker! Rigondeuce can't attract viewers. Maybe throw him in there with an actual Jackal. Might tempt him to throw more then one magical counter-feint per round.

Ooooooh, look at him, he's so magical, with his one punch flurries, his furrowed brow and his pocket pivoting wizardry.

Watch as he disappears millions of television viewers in a single ring walk, and strategically places them on another network.

Oh Rigandolf, you are a clever little Cuban.

So what, Rigondull has a style to bring a fight to a dead fucking crawl. So we have one guy throwing no punches a round and another guy throwing 3 punches a round.

HBO should get in a bidding war over that?

Have I seen the fight? Why? So he can hypnotize me with his salsa moves? So he can cast his Svengali like spell across my purist hating brain. No way man! I ain't falling for that. :nono:

They should change his nickname to "The Cuban Gollum".

He has bad intentions, he really does............but he waits all the way to the end of the fucking movie, to follow through on those intentions.

Andy Serkis could play him in the ring. The real Rigondeaux wouldn't even have to show up for his fights. Just have Peter Jackson airbrush in a pivot or a feint every 10 to 15 seconds or so. He wouldn't even have to change his expression.

    This could work people!

The Fightbeat poster known as "Nobleart" isn't a big fan of Guillermo Rigondeaux.

A good while back, Frampton's manager offered team Rigo the chance to come to Belfast and have their man defend his title against Frampton, but team Rigo thought Frampton wasn't ready.

Ultimately, Arum Got Tapia BEAT, Against a Guy he Probably SHOULDN'T EVER Seek a RE w/...Knowing that WILL Impact Tapia's Drawing Power, Was it WORTH it???...

@ the End of the Day, Arum Got his MARQUEE Guy of the Night Beaten & BAD Press for the BEST Fighter in his Stable...
