Why would we be disappointed in RJJ? He came back and fought a top 3 P4P fighter and dropped him. This after being KTFO twice and badly hurt. He even fought through the end with a bad cut. All questions have been answered by RJJ. He has heart and he was willing to fight the best all along.

No, I'm just tired of seeing your diatribes on this fight all over the site.

Calz won in a dominating fashion. We get it. Move on.

If you didn't feel the need to make an ass out of yourself, this thread wouldn't exist at all.

if u didn't cry like a bitch when rjj got his ass handed to him you wouldn't feel so hostile towards me. afterall, you don't even know me.

you know, i thought rjj had the talent, speed and athleticism to beat sloppy. so i was somewhat crushed to watch him get clowned for 12 rounds because he was too afraid to actually "fight" joe - the activity he was paid to do.

i agree. i've done nothing to deserve the inslults - other than to post my opinion among a bunch of adoloescent idiots who would rather sling personal insults than discuss boxing.

correction: i've said my "peace." namely, that rjj fought like a puss. and as per usual not a single respose was boxing related. rather, i became the victim of insults from team rjj all in denial that rjj didn't fight to win.

    i'm not the one trolling.

I have to agree with Double on this one.

Sure,..in his prime, Jones may be the most physically gifted fighter I've ever seen. And even now has incredible speed and reflexes for a fighter his age.

But his heart pumps Kool-Aid plain and simple.

Because he showed no heart against Sloppy. And when he was undefeated most certainly would not have fought him.

He's in a position now where his globe trotter act no longer cuts it. He has to be in real fights if he expects a decent pay-check.

So I disagree (and think it's false) to say that all along he would've fought anyone.

He turned his back on a lot of perfectly able competition because he had so many fooled he didn't need a real opponent to make his millions. Now he does.

It's like a revelation - we finally know why he wouldn't fight guys like Jirov, DM or rematch Hopkins.

Your act is laughable. That cut was much more than enough of a reason to stop the fight.

maybe. but was it reason enough for RJJ to stop fighting and put on nothing short of a pussy performance?

fighters beg referees not to stop the fight when they're cut - fighters who want to win badly.

are you suggesting RJJ would've won had it not been for the cut? or that he would've engaged Joe anymore than he did?

If he wanted to bitch out, he would have. You act like he was engaging before the cut. He wouldn't have gotten cut if he did. He had more than 1 opportunity to quit the fight, but didn't contrary to your wishful claims.

Dude, the RINGSIDE PHYSICIANS TRIED To Stop the Fight on SEVERAL Occasions...

Yet Roy Said, "No, Don't Stop it...I'm GOOD"...

If Roy Wanted to QUIT, he'd have Been SILENT when the Doctors Tried to Stop the Fight & MEEKLY Accepted it...

DeLa Came CLOSER to QUITTING, vs. Bernard, than Roy Jones did vs. Calzaghe...

And Roy quit against Tarver in the 3rd fight, much worse than anything mentioned here.

Roy wasn't going to quit on his stool, but when the going gets tough, he certainly does not step up to the challenge.

When he was light-years ahead of everyone else and handpicking opponents this didn't matter, but now that he's not as good as his opponents he's shown nothing to suggest he could go through adversity.

    Nah...

DeLa's QUIT Job vs. Bernard was MUCH Worse...Bernard ISN'T a Puncher (& Most Certainly NOT a BODYpuncher), yet he FOLDED DeLa like a Paper Airplane w/a Shot that DIFFEREN'T have Much Leverage on it...

THEN, DeLa Rolls Around like he's Been SHOT, Only to B PERFECTLY FINE after the 10-Count was Administered...That's MUCH Worse than ANYTHING Roy has Done...& U'd NEVER See Roy Facing a Guy as Grossly UNDERSIZED as Manny Pac is, Either...

Roy Jones WEATHERED Adversity N the 1st Tarver Fight...After 10 Rounds, the Fight was Dead EVEN...Roy CLEARLY WON the Last 2 Rounds...

Obviously, Roy WASN'T Trying to Win the 3rd Tarver Fight, but he COULD have QUIT N Round 11, After Tarver BADLY Hurt him...

De La Hoya's performance in being KOed is something flukish. And yes it looks like he took a dive like a little bitch. But he was never going to beat Hopkins at MW anyway. I mean, he lost the sturm fight leading up to it for all I care, and we can see how good Sturm was.

Contrast that with Roy. I disagree completely with him "weathering adversity" in the Tarver I fight.

Tarver fought for 5 rounds, and won all 5. History shows us that Antonio Tarver is feces as a fighter. He has lost to pretty much everyone who was any good the first time around. He just have the chops to be a great fighter at all, let alone an all-time great fighter.

Roy had no answers for when Tarver actually threw punches, even in 2003. That Tarver blows and let Roy off the hook is an afterthought.

He outright quit in the third fight. He made no effort to win. It was worse than a "Duran" quit job, in that he didn't have the fight stopped he stayed there doing nothing the entire time, which to me is even worse. If you're gonna take a fight with the guy at least fight, dont prolong it by doing nothing, especially if you are a "great" fighter.

Now he definitely did more of this against Calzaghe, but in the end beta cells are too strong to overcome. He is gunshy, and has been gunshy his whole life when in against a live opponent...I can't think of one fight he's ever shown the guts to come from behind in. Everytime he's faced with someone who can do something, he goes into the tank and cries.

We saw against poo like Hanshaw and Ajamu and Trinidad that he can still win rounds and be effective if he's up against minimal resistance. But to me, the mark of a courageous, best of the best fighter is someone who fights through being bad, and makes that effort
