DLH at least had the balls to fight a bigger and better fighter, something Roy never did do, never would have done, never will do. And go stick Ruiz right back up your ASS. Ruiz is and was a bum. And you, yes you, used to call him "Louse". Ruiz represents the APEX of Roy's intestinal fortitude. Roy did not show heart against Tarver in the first fight. Tarver stopped coming. Roy did not step it up, Tarver stepped it down. Technically, Roy showed heart in the Montell 2 fight. However, one has to overlook the sheer cowardce he displayed in the first fight when he punched a man who was competetive with him while he was done. That was just as cowardly as Mike/Holyfield 2.

The so called haters have been proven right and by 100%. You nutticks always said we said he was a bum. I know what I said.
    Roy has no heart
    Roy has no balls.
Roy never wanted to fight anyone that had a chance with him after he fought Toney.
(note: roy has no balls or heart compared to other professional fighters.)
This is why he wanted none of Michael Nunn. This is why he shamelessly ducked Jirov. Jirov would beat any version of Roy and Roy wanted none of it.

^^^^It doesn't take balls to take a dive in a fight.

Roy at least made ATTEMPTS to fight back when the going got tough for him. Oscar on the other hand, both times he was faced with adversity against Hopkins and Trinidad, put on shameful performances that he'll never live down.

Roy at least was a true warrior and went out on his shield when he got KO'd unlike the Golden Chicken who found the easy way out.

Yeah, but I look at the dive as part of a business agreement, and Oscar showed that he had the balls to know he had to suck it up and quit as a fighter in order to help Oscar the businessman.

Roy never showed those kind of balls in the ring.

...no one can say that Roy didn't show guts in there against Joe....it got to the stage where he had no chance of winning the fight.....Calzaghe saw and evaded almost everything he threw.....and he doesn't have it in him to physically sustain offence at the high pace that Joe was setting......if he was gonna quit, he had plenty of reason to......that was a bad cut and by carrying on he put any future paydays at risk

    :boohoo:

Roy Spent a LARGE Portion of his CAREER Fighting Bigger Men...Roy Jones was a Natural SUPERMIDDLE, yet he DOMINATED Lightheavy as Well...Compare that to DeLa who was Damn Near 6 Feet, Facing 130 lb'ders & Assorted Other SMALLER Men, Until he FINALLY Moved Up to 147 to Fight Guys HIS OWN Fucking Size...

The ONE Fight U're Giving DeLa Credit 4 is Bernard & that ENTIRE Fight was a FARCE...Bernard CARRIED DeLa...NEVER Did Bernard Put REAL Pressure on DeLa & the INSTANT DeLa Found an "OUT", he TOOK it...Rolled Around on the Canvas like an Epilectic, then was MAGICALLY Healed 1nce the Ref Said "10":boohoo:...

Roy COULD Have BOWED OUT of the 3rd Tarver Fight OR the Calzaghe Fight...But Roy DIDN'T...

Roy DID Show HEART N the 1st Tarver Fight, Cause the Fight was DEAD EVEN After 10 Rounds (The 10th was Probably Tarver's BEST Round of that ENTIRE Fight)...Roy SUCKED IT UP, Came Out for Rounds 11 & 12 & BROUGHT the Fight to Tarver...& Considering Tarver had the Power to Knock Roy SENSELESS, that's ADMIRABLE...

The Roy HATERS were Sooooooooo WRONG, it's COMICAL...

    1. It "Only" Took U Bitches about 15-16 YEARS to FINALLY B "Right" about Roy:lol:...That's a Loooooooooooooong Ass Time to Say "I Told U So", Isn't It???....

    2. The VAST MAJORITY of Roy's Lightheavy Bouts were Against LARGER Men....

    3. Say what U Want about Ruiz, but he's 1 of THE MORE Accomplished Heavy's of the Last 5-10 Years...He was NO WORSE than Top 3-5 when Roy WAXED him...& YES, he had a 33 lb Weight ADVANTAGE (Not to Mention REACH, STRENGTH & YOUTH)...There's NO Minimizing that Bout, Sorry:nono:...

    4. If U Saw the Jirov-Toney Fight, there's NOfuckingWAY U Could Conclude that he'd BEAT a PRIME Roy Jones....Roy Failed to Face Jirov Because he was Negotiating w/Bernard Hopkins @ the SAME TIME (Do Some RESEARCH, Cause it's the TRUTH)...Roy Ended Up Offering Bernard 6 Mil or So, which @ the Time was about 3x MORE than Bernard's CAREER HIGH Purse, yet Bernard STILL DECLINED the Offer....

    NEXT!!!...

& on MORE than 1 Occasion, the Ringside Physician Said, "That Cuts looks Pretty BAD Roy...."

Roy Replied by Saying, "I'm GOOD, Don't Stop it" & he Walked AWAY from the Physician...If Roy WANTED Out, he'd have just SAT THERE SILENTLY & Allowed the Dr. to STOP it...

It's Amazing how Guys CAN'T even Give Roy Jones a SLIVER of Credit...

I give Jones alot of credit, for I am a lifelong fan of his.

But you gotta admit that Roy's heart pumps Kool-Aid.

He has never been a "TRUE" warrior in the sense of the word. The guy at his best is the greatest fighter I've ever seen.....but his skill always was bigger than his heart/gut.

Even years before his first loss.....he talked about not wanting to get hurt in the ring.

DLH overcame adversity in a couple of other fights. Quartey beat De La Hoya regardless of what the judges said, but still, DLH showed something in the 12th by dropping and nearly stopping Ike after losing 5 of the previous 6 rounds. And DLH always showed his medal in a tough bout with juiced up Vargas.

fyi: you do recover quickly from a liver shot. it's paralyzing initially, but minutes later you're fine (see Hatton/Castillo). it's not like getting your ribs broken. it's a sudden shock that is arresting, but not long lasting.

Love how you slipped that reference in there. Trinidad fans should continue to thank god that Oscar didn't decide to try and win one more round.

This is all silly. Like Double L this is the first time I can remember ever rooting for Roy in a fight.

Roy didn't disappoint me with his effort however, he just doesn't have it. He's incapable of pulling the trigger against anybody who doesn't just stand directly in front of him. When I say incapable I mean "not physically able to".

First time I really noticed was the Glenn Johnson fight. I thought he was just playing possum all the way up to the point he got KTFO. Waiting for him to snap back.

It's not one of those things a fighter ever gets back as he gets older either. He never did. It's gotten sad and the guy should be retired. He could shoeshine his way to a few inconsequential wins but they would mean very little at this point.

Hopefully Roy didn't sink all his money into AIG or Rap Music.

Here is my take on Jones' heart,

First of all, I don't think the first Tarver fight is enough to prove that Jones had the heart of great champion. If we had more similar cases then yeah, but this was Tarver. I think it was as much of a case of Tarver choking as he saw a possible victory ahead of him.

Second of all, Jones didn't show much heart during his best simply because he didn't have to. He was just too good. I can't blame a fighter from not showing heart in fights when like two out of forty were any difficultfor him. Prime Jones was something else.

Third. I think that Jones probably being as superior to others as he was for so long, was not at his best at tough places. Since he rarely got actual challenge, the times later in his career when he did, he just couldn't be ready for it. I think his reaction of the first Griffin bout clearly showed that he was uncomfortable in there, itherwise he could have kept his cool. In Johnson and Tarver III fights we saw a guy who had lost that self-trust and was a pale shadow of himself

I don't think Hatton-Castillo was a liver punch, it was a rib-breaking shot. Castillo had a couple of broken ribs from that shot.

He stepped it up in the first Tarver fight when he had too.
