What if PBF were to beat down Hatton like a rabid dog? I mean, PBF has hardly ever looked like a puncher above 135 and if PBF is able to stop him, does Hatton really have a chance in hell of even lasting a few rounds with Duran?
Well yeah, if PBF would knock Hatton out, the I would probably change my pick for this fight also. That's exactly what I was saying: the outcome of fights should affect your picks
Floyd won't even get close to knocking Hatton out....I'd be surprised if he even managed to back Hatton up.
this is one of the most ridiculous one's I've seen here. Hatton would FOLD under Duran's assult.. without a doubt
Tackie. Phillips. Tszyu. Oliveira. Urango. Castillo. Pedersen. In all those fights, even if some ended in the middle rounds, Hatton did quite a bit of clinching/mauling/grappling. It's always been in his repertoire to an extent; he uses it against fighters that have power or are too relentless or quick....but it's gotten worse over time even at 140 lbs. Peace.
:: Hmmm...sure, Duran also used grappling/mauling in his repertoire, no doubt - and he resorted to dirty tactics often. But he was also pretty much better at everything Hatton does, except for maybe handspeed/footspeed...and given their styles; that's a null advantage. Also, Duran would box or maul depending on what the opponent and tactic called for - and he could do either from beginning to end. To me, his stamina is superior to Hatton's. What you've identified above though, is part of my point.... I think Hatton goes into this fight wanting to do the 'roughing up' - and gets roughed up instead. If an older, inactive Tszyu could be competitive and hang with him (and there's no doubt in my mind a prime Tszyu beats Hatton) - Duran certainly can. Peace.
I guess I must have missed all those Mayweather KOs....what is it....6 in the last 14 or so fights? :: I guess being very accurate must be worrying Hatton being as the last P4P-puncher he faced ended up brutalised, smahed and hospitalised. :bears: :bears: Roll on, December.
Duran is sent to the the pen for the numerous right hands he bludgeons Hatton with. The Pac fight would look like a walk in the park.
I know I am not the kindest to Duran, but this fight is surely his to win or lose (dependent, as usual, on his conditioning). Hatton is a tough kid with a lot of fight in him, & he would go down swinging. He would try, something fierce I believe, but there is just not one single thing he does better than Duran. Not a-one.
Duran wins and it's not especially close. Hatton was getting very overrated by some prior to the Mayweather and Pacquiao fights.
Hatton can beat good and very good fighters, but in two attempts at beating truly great fighters he came up well short. That doesn't bode well for him against Duran, who quite obviously falls into the latter category and who almost certainly stops Hatton here. MTF
anybody who thinks Ricky Hatton wins more than 1 or 2 rounds in this is delusional Duran does everything better than Hatton... and my goodness he would eat him alive on the inside Duran KO10, unless he felt like torturing him
You're being very generous giving Ricky 10 rounds to last with Duran. Hatton aint no Palomino! Hatton gets iced in 6 tops.
you are probably right, X but sometimes Duran liked to make them suffer I mean, he sure as hell could have gotten Ray Lampkin out of there before the 14th... but it was like he wanted to play with him some more... the way cats do... Duran the lightweight was a brutally remorseless guy
