Easy, Trigger. I don't care that Floyd is undefeated and in some ways I am glad that he is. I think it's better for boxing that he is undefeated, for example. The reality is, however, that he really shouldn't be particularly because of the Judah fight.

I really disagree with that. The sport has devolved into people trying to protect unblemished records (Floyd) and long title streaks(my personal favorite Hopkins, Calzaghe, etc)). This is a detriment to the sport. Promoters and fighters think their record is a testament to how good they are but they leave great fights on the table, or take them at the wrong time.

I don't watch MMA but one thing I admire is that a lot of guys will fight anyone. They may lose but 3-4 months down the line, they are fighting at a high level again.

People can see through the bullshit.

MMA would be more like boxing with regard to undefeated records being protected, but the monopoly prevents it. That, and the nature of the sport-it's just easier to lose in mma to an opponent you are better than.

I don't know that the UFC is corrupt in any illegal way. They get to screw their fighters so hard as it is that they may not have any reason to be. But, history has shown that power tends to corrupt and the UFC has WAY more power than any single entity should when it comes to mma. Unless things change, I think it is a CERTAINTY that corruption in the UFC will develop if it hasn't already.

This whole thing was very unfortunate. I always have rooted for Mayweather I think he is the best fighter I have ever seen, or at least the best boxer. But if it makes any sense - I am not "proud" of this win but rather embarrassed.

At the same time Ortiz is an idiot and deserves it. When I boxed I never even touches gloves with a guy once. Never apologized or gave my opponent hugs and kisses during a fight - fuck's sake good sportsmanship only has to extend to not intentionally trying to foul your opponent... beyond that I am not in there to be your friend and neither should any professional prizefighter.

Mayweather shouldn't have to do that tho. It's legal, but it was a cheap shot and the merchant interview was funny but also classless on Floyd's part.... Merchant was actually in the process of complimenting his aggressive performance.

Personnally I thought it was classless. And no, two wrongs don't make a right. Mayweather didn't need that kind of cheap shot to win this fight. I felt robbed of a normal ending.

I thought of a way to summarize how i feel about it. I feel that any win you have to try and justify isn't worthy of a fighter who is supposed to be the best fighter in the world. does that seem fair?

 

Kinda funny from coming someone as useless as you whose M.O. is name calling and shit stirring. And, hey...looks you're doing both here. Who would have thought?

And if I post less these days, it's because there isn't a lot of useful boxing discussion going on around here these days since the real boxing fans appear to been mostly replaced with trolls and folks with agendas. You know..the stuff you enjoy.
