Confidence? I think Corrales took what was left of Popo's confidence when he bounced him off the canvas a few times. It probably explains his crap stamina, he just doesn't have the will to "gut" it out. Once a quitter, always a quitter.

I don't see a superstar in him, but Juan didn't impressed me at all tonight, great win on paper but he looked ordinary, Freitass was just awfull.

 Freitass looked drunk, no balance, no power, sloppy, bad combos. Kind of like you in the awfull video of you hitting the punchingbag, no surprise you thought he looked good.

I'm not sure. Before I thought Casamayor would easily beat Juan. But Casamayor is in his mid-30s and probably has slowed down a step or so. I'd still favor Joel over Juan at the moment but it would be closer.

I'm hoping that a fight is setup with Casamayor actually because the Freitas victory would probably make for a healthy betting environment for Joel takers. :crafty:

Cassamoayor is done too, he ain't beating a young energic lion like Diaz ( even thought I think he would have taken him apart in his prime ).

Cassamayor doesn't have the sort of style that Freitas has; he's not going to age the way Freitas has.

You're wrong. Freitas had power and crisp combos, but he tried to flurry too much and didn't use the jab nearly enough to set his combos up. Diaz did the opposite. The jab set up everything until they were chest-to-chest. Diaz also kept a tight guard and that negated Freitas' bodywork.

Houston should be celebrating Juan Diaz cause T-Mac and Yao are not getting it done again. :crafty:

I don't he will be as far gone as Quitas either, but he has lost a step in terms of his speed and reflexes. If this fight had happened 3 years ago, Joel would probably have stopped Diaz. Right now, it's a much closer fight, though I would still favor Joel. Joel gave Diego a pasting in 2 out of 3 fights and probably got robbed of a victory against fat boy JLC.

when has he ever had balance or not been sloppy?

    No power?...cause Diaz took it?

Dude you are severely wrong on this. Diaz will be undisputed lightweight champion, and he was very good tonight.

    Casamayor
    Rahim
    Campbell

They could all pull it off if the box and don't let Diaz get more than two punches in at a time. They will all be underdog imo..excpet for CAsamayor

It's pretty unlikely that Diaz could beat all of them, though.

Well, I am shocked. How the hell did Juan stop Freitas. I like both guys. Diaz is a good kid and I felt bad picking against him and even worse now. Jawz called this. He told me Freitas was going to quit and I clowned him ridiculously. :eek:ld: :eek:ld: I thought there was a 10% chance of what happened to happen. It did. Good win for the bull. I like that kid and he has finally beaten an elite fighter.

    Therefore Diaz>>>>Cotto

    WTF! is Freitas bi-polar? :dunno:

He rolls around on the canvas crying like a little baby when he wins and celebrates on the shoulders of his cornerman and makes out with his wife in the middle of the ring when he quits.

    Hes gotta retire after this.

I called this shit. read the thread. El terrible argued with me saying I had no basis for it. I told him I believe that Corrales took more out of him than Popo's fans want to acknowledge. Popo is a quitter, no heart.

Pretty much agree. What Freitas did against Corrales isn't really quitting, unless you call every single guy who could have gotten up or who stays in the corner or who doesn't ko his cornerman after the corner stops it a quiter.

And I'm on record saying I hate calling a fighter a quitter.

    Freitas quit tonight.

I do know where his power went, though. It was methodically erased by Oscar Suarez.

Not a bad fight, for a guy with no power. Fretas is done. Once he moved up, he turn to $hit. Pacquiao/Diaz would be great. Both move forward. Both have lots of energy. I'd probably favor Diaz, by UD if it happens. Diaz never backs up, and pacquiao can't fight moving backword. The key is can Pacquiao land flush on diaz, not many boxers can. Diaz would also beat Chico and Casa.

Chico will never fight at 135 again so theres no chance of that fight ever happening(lucky for Juan). Casa is way past it, I definitely favor Juan to beat him. Never thought I'd say this but, Diaz is now the best at 135. By default because Castillo & Corrales have moved up. I dont think Julio Diaz would beat him.

As for Pacman-Diaz, Juan is a tough fight for Pacman. Even though Manny is light years better overall, Diaz presents problems for him due to his size, and physical strength. But then again, Pacman is no Fruity.
