It's arguable obviously but I have no issues with anyone who thought Manny won 6 rounds. It wasn't impossible at all. I don't agree with anyone giving Pac round 11 though he lost that round clear as hell. All in all it was a very close fight to my eyes with a couple of swing rounds.

But you saw it on a tiny online stream.

I saw the fight on a 40-inch high definition LCD.

My opinion right now is way more valid than yours.

    :dunno:

I didn't score it as usual, I thought Marquez won but can understand a close decision the other way. I heard Ford gave Pacquio the twelfth round.... ? Ford is a really bad judge and I know he didn't have the fight close.

LOL at the sight of Marquez' receding hair line on the knockdown. If they fight again Marquez will win.

Yeah unfortunantely I did have to watch a stream, because of cable issues. Next week my opinion will be just as valid though. :kick: If I watch it on a 65 inch TV does it become more valid? Anyways I watch the fight as close as possible and I thought it was a very good, close fight.

I am not the only person who watched this shit on a stream. Regardless you only had JMM by 2 point. You switch 1 round and you had a draw. A lot of people are crying robbery? I am sorry but I didn;t see that type of fight.

Ray Charles scored the 11th round for Marquez. 11 and 12 were CLEARLY Marquez´s rounds.

No need I already saw the fight unless you are discounting half the people who watched it. I prefer a regular sized TV to score but I know a really close fight when I see 1 and that would be this fight.

"I'll score it next week when HBO reshows it. Honestly it was a damn close fight. There was a couple of swing rounds that weren't that clear to me. Unfortunantely I am having cable issues. IMO it's harder to watch a fight on a stream than TV. Having said that my guess would have been I could see either guy winning by a point or so."

    Like I said...next week.

i said it before and ill say it again

Manny Pac is like a pitbull and marquez is like a freakin cat....he scratches but he don't got the bite..he is merely fighting for his life in the ring..thats how i see it...how many times does pac have to bounce marquez off the freakin canvase or hurt him?

Pac's shots even if he lands less are the effective punches and in any close round the punches that mean something give you the edge IMO

time for pac to move on..he fought a brave boxer but he just brings more to the table...SORRY

My mind isn't made up, hence my usage of the word if. I'm going off of what seems to be the bigger opinion. Trust me I'm more than capable of seeing my own opinion even after hearing a large majority feel differently. Such was the case when I read how Hopkins was robbed and after finally seeing the fight felt JT won it clearly.

When you actually see me claim a robbery for a fight I've never seen, then you can come on here and rightly straighten me out, until then I suggest you slow yo roll.

Damn surprised so many people calling it a robbery. I believe I had it 6 rounds a piece with the KD winning it for Pac. Lot of close rounds in there that definitely coulda swayed your scorecard, but it was without a doubt a close fight. Let's make this a trilogy.

    Me too, really surprised.

It was a CLOSE fight. I can see a case for Marquez winning, because I had it 6 rounds a piece, and there were some close rounds, many close rounds in fact.

But overall, the amount of punches landed and thrown were similar, pacman landed the harder punches, and knocked marquez on his arse, and people are calling it a robbery? :dunno:

Wow, what furor on the boards....hardly unexpected.

I had it 114-113 for Marquez; 7-5 in rounds.

What a great, great fight. Tactical, strategic, with adjustments by both men (and Manny making more than he's been known for)...and explosive bursts of action, drama, both men cut, both men rocked and hurt, one down!

What more could we ask for? :bears:

It was a close fight, and I have NO issue with anyone who has a draw or Manny winning by 1 point (6-6 in rounds).

It was that kind of fight.

I personally would have a hard time seeing a card with Pacquiao winning 7 rounds.

Marquez let the fight go in the 3rd - he was winning that round until the KD - though to his credit he absolutely tried his best to even it afterwards.

There is no way in my view that Manny won the 11th or 12th rounds. Marquez won those rounds clearly - the 12th even MORE clearly than the 11th.

As I expected, JMM returned to his counterpunching stance in this fight (alternating more with some leading/aggression)...proof that his availability to be hit in recent fights is more premeditated than a result of slippage (even though he IS getting older and one can see some decline).

He should have done more; and he was waiting to counterpunch so expertly/accurately that he rarely used a hard jab, which was a mistake (when he did, it scored well). JMM needed to lead more behind a hard jab to secure the fight.

It's hard to argue with his battle plan; but even Nacho Beristain was yelling at him in the corner to attack and lead more - because when Pacquiao is reacting and/or backing up, he cannot fight well and he is not a natural counterpuncher.

Those are the spots where JMM's patience & counterpunching instincts got the better of him.

Manny looked very good, IMHO - feinting, drawing JMM in with right hooks and fake rights, matching JMM in the jab department, and parrying and moving his head MUCH more. His defense has improved!

For those that are saying it "didn't look like Manny in there"...I respectfully disagree.

Ever thought that might be because of WHO he's FACING?? That's simply a refusal to give JMM much credit. Pacquiao looked that way in the first match, too; for the majority of rounds 3-11...and that was at his best weight of 126.

The fact is there were rounds where Manny tried to swarm - but he was usually dissuaded by JMM's counters and tactics.

The fight was at 130 lbs. - and Marquez has more dynamite in his hands than Barrera or Morales (at 126 or 130) or Solis or whoever...that and JMM's timing, accuracy and willingness to mix it up if he had to is what kept Manny tentative. You can't wade in when the return fire can catch you clean and WILL hurt you - as Manny found out in the first fight and at least 4-5 times in the rematch.

Manny was on point for this fight. Both men were.

I am not sure that everyone is giving JMM full credit for his body work, which should have swung some of the closer rounds his way.

That being said, again...I have no issues with anyone who has it a draw or Pac winning by 1.

Have a feeling if these two fight 10 times the result will always be extremely, extremely close.

Credit to those who picked Manny, especially by decision - especially Holler, who picked it by SD with Marquez going down once! :bears:

    Peace.

It´s not a robbery, but I have a hard time coming up with seven rounds Manny could have won. To me Marquez won rounds 2, 5, 6, 8, 11, 12. Manny won 3, 4 and 10. Rounds 1, 7 and 9 were virtually impossible to score, but since you defended the Vasquez decision so hard, one would figure, you´d side with Juan Manuel Marquez here. Marquez won his rounds clearly and finished the show in style, winning the last two rounds, but in this case, a close decision for Manny is fine, I guess, while a close decision for Rafa was a absolute no-no.
