    WILLIAMS

"He hit me with some nice good shots, he stun me a bit, but the training we did in PR help us alot"

"Yes, i had to pick it up in the late rounds"

"WELL i want COTTO, if i can't get COTTO i want a shot at MAYWEATHER"

    Margarito:

"I was smiling because i wasn't getting hit clean"

"He might have thrown more punches, but i landed the harder shit, I though i was up in the cards, this is a robbery"

"yes by round 9, i though i was up in the cards, and i even won the last few rounds, it was a robbery"

I think Cintron-Williams would be a logical next fight for both.

    Would love to see it.

Williams is tough to beat, not because he lands much, but you cannot land anything on him. Jab, Jab, Jab, Jab, straight left, run around, clinch, jab, jab, jab, jab repeat routine. Plus he has good stamina, can take a punch and uses his size well.

He's just pissed b/c he lost with the Cotto payday on the table.

But it would be just like Arum to make the fight anyways.

I have to admit it's pretty funny how all this time Margarito has been secretly hyped up, and was underrated, everyone ducking him etc, pretty much Winky style, and he doesn't even pass this test

Unlike Winky, I guess Tonio didn't turn out to be for real. I never thought marge was anything that special, but I thought he was good enough to beat williams.

wow..margarito feels like he won the fight and says so...no surprise there

boxing fans call him an asshole...no surprise there, either

Never have gotten how/why some people think it's so important to be a gracious loser? That's not how most of these guys are wired.

Nobody got their ass beat, so what's the point in saying it?

If anything, Margarito landed the majority of the more meaningful punches...and if any fighter showed any give in them, it was Williams in the tenth and eleventh.

He showed a lot of heart and conditioning - and seasoning - in coming out and finishing the fight the way he did.

All credit to him and Margarito.

Nah, Williams won against Margarita but he didn't even remotely come to hurting Margarita, they are almost even, both Smurfs can't punch worth a flying fuck. Why do you say Cotto would have trouble with one Smurf, yet he can destroy the other Smurf? You are making no sense, except that I detect a pro-brotha and anti-boner sentiment in your post.

I'm not saying he didn't put up a heart-filled showing, but I hate when fighters cry robbery everytime they lose. There's too many people in boxing who cry fowl when they lose. Some gus are legitimately robbed, and the term gets dumbed down when a fighter loses a cear decision but claims they won.

It ruins credibility. DLH cried when he lost to trinidad, fine, u probably won, but then he cried fowl against Mayweather. I'm just saying I'd rather see guys be honest and give credit to their opponents

    I know.

De la Hoya will be dangerous in the welterweight division as long as he stays away from Sugar Shane.

Aren't you a wannabe athlete yourself? These guys compete at the highest level, it's not difficult to accept defeat in any form of serious competition.

And this is something they train months for etc, can you really blame them?

And the fight was close enough for Margarito to think he won. He landed at a higher percentage than Williams, he felt all the punches he blocked, he landed the harder punches. He can´t think he won the fight as the defending champ. :dunno:

I thought I won, and "this was a robbery" are two very different things.

It'd be natural to think u won, but throwing out the robbery in a fight like this is wrong IMO
