come on... the cut didn't become an issue till it started bleeding, and Diaz lost his balls, he would come in close..and do nothing but protect that eye..he didn't fight he didn't throw punches for 2-3 rounds..he was tooooo scared if getting hit on that eye...most of the clinches tonight were started by Diaz...

I didn't say Campbell was clinching him, I said during the clinches he shot for the injured eye.

Besides that, the headbutt in round one was INTENTIONAL. They didn't say it but they were stood still together and Campbell lunged into him.

I don't care for either fighter but what I saw tonight was a guy come out and intentionally headbutt someone's eye. Yes, it opened up later when it got punched but there's no question that he 1) Intentionally headbutted his eye in the first round 2) Targeted that same eye during clinches. The eye did become a big issue after that because Diaz was protecting it. The cut was bad and the fight should have been stopped. If that's a heroic performance by Campbell in ANYONE's eyes here, then that thell's you right there where the sport of boxing is. :shit:

I agree completely. Diaz intiated the clinches by laying on Campbell's shoulder and by fighting inside. A style which incidently cost him the fight.

Yeah he took advantage of the eye. Meanwhile Juan failed to fight through adversity and shown a sign of greatness. Overall Nate did fight a great fight regardless and deserved the win. Boxing does allow strategies other than just KOing. The headbutt was wrong, but I'm not going to penalize guys for targeting bruises or cuts.

The consistent body work won Campbell the fight IMO and he did a good job counterpunching with the right hand.I'm happy Campbell finally got a big win in his career.

I'm rooting for Maskaev here because I want to see him, not Peter fight Wlad.

the ref cut at least a minute off the fight 10 seconds @ a time at the start of the last six rounds. also giving diaz more rest n his corner more time to work on the cuts. he let diaz clinch all throughout.

bad news for this hw fiasco.crooked ken morita is judging

Fightbeat radio listeners can confirm I called it. Nates accuracy would be the key and Juan,s style covers up his weakness, bad defense and shaky chin

Does anyone remember early in Maskaev's career he was considered to have one of the strongest chins and in less then a year and 2 KO's later he was considered chinny. I wonder which guy will show up tonight.
