Lets all hope that Katsidis beats Casamayor, so we can see Campbell-Katsidis. Cause I dont wanna see Campbell-Casa II.

Japanese are great - friendly, polite, service-oriented. Of course, that is very much cultural - all of us are still gaijin! Or more politically correct, gaikokujin.

Crowd was relatively quiet and VERY organized and orderly. But when their man threw a punch, the entire crowd would shout! Influences the judges, I think.

It was a fun and unique experience - as is visiting Japan. Absolutely love it and it was my second time there. Have been to Yokohama, Tokyo and Kyoto....fabulous. Unfortunately don't get to see as much as I'd like since they are business trips - but do want to come back on vacation.

Today, I'm in Joony's stomping ground - Seoul!

    Peace.

Nate's gotten his act together, that's the difference. I think he beats Casa if he takes him on again...and badly over the later rounds.

    Peace.

  Yes he was. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about how horrendous he was. I guess we want to forget him as quickly as possible.

On a technical level the announing was fucking shit too. He didn't state that it was a split decision, just started reading out the scores, and he also didn't say "And new". What an anus.

I (still) think Campbell pretty much sucks and am amazed he beat Diaz, but he got screwed against Casa. I thought he clearly deserved that decision.

I didn't think anything was clear in that fight. I believe I leaned towards Campbell, with one even round, but I thought that was a very close fight.

When Campbell is fully "on", he will be a handful for anyone in the division.

And I had Casa winning that fight by 1-2 points. Still, Campbell "hung in" against a prime Casamayor in a weight class Nate was drained in.

    Peace.

Come on. Fully on? Primed? Focused? Are we talking about Zab Judah here, or Nate Campbell? If youre having this conversation about a fighter, they suck.

    Yes, they "suck".

Doesn't take away from the fact that on a given night they can beat anyone...especially when the opponent plays RIGHT into Campbell's style, which is what Diaz did.

You can categorize a fighter all you'd like and that's fine; but if they can beat anyone on an 'up' night, that's still a consideration.

There's no 'agenda' here to push Campbell...I could care less.

But the fact remains. Why people are translating Campbell's inconsistency - and how much of a threat he is when he has a 'good night' - into some kind of argument for how great he is is beyond me.

Case in point is just how shocked you were that he won - and won the way he did.

We'll see what happens next...maybe he can't hold on to it for more than one fight; maybe Diaz gets it back next time. :dunno:

    Peace.

On any given night, any fighter can beat another...so I can't let that argument fly, bro.

Since this fight result, I've heard a bunch of straight up BS surrounding him. He's this, he's that...blah blah blah...poor guy for losing here, not his fault, weight, distractions, blah blah blah. Fuck that. Nate has a BUNCH of losses because he's never been as good as he or any of his fans think he is.

He's lost to a variety of opponents, with differing styles...so there is no argument for 'he's vulnerable to xxxx, but put yyyy in front of him and look out!'. I used to think he was just raw and learned the game slow. Thats just not the case afterall. He's simple not that good. He has good power, good stamina, decent range and has a nice variety of punches....but he is what he is. He's not inconsistent, IMO. He's not an A grade talent. He's not 'up' or 'down' for fights, any more than any fighter is. He's Nate Campbell. World class mistake maker and good puncher.

He's the kind og guy who's gonna lose that belt real quick and people will STILL be making excuses for him....hence, Zab Judah.

PS: Im shocked Campbell won, because he's really not very good. I thought Diaz was and is. Maybe I'll think different once I actually see the fight...who knows. I doubt it though. I've seen Campbell enough times to know that the dog ain't learning any new tricks.

It's Diaz who you should be focusing on not being very good. He is busy and has good stamina, but he is limited, has no power, and he also has less heart and determination than you'd have anticipated.

Diaz has won fights in which he has been down, busted up and cut in before. Don't talk to me about a guy not having heart or determination. When Campbell wins one of those kinds of fights, let me know.

There's a difference. My point is that on any given night Campbell can beat the ELITE of the division.

    He just proved it.

It's leagues removed from "on any night any fighter can beat any other."

If you watch his fights back to back to me it's evident that he is NOT consistent....but I can see your point.

I'm not saying he's a PxPer...but he IS good enough when "on" (IMHO) to beat the top guys at 135. He just beat one.

    Peace.

Yeah, down and busted up by a bunch of bums. Which further proves that Diaz isnt very good. Lets face it... the guy feasted on a over-the-hill Fruitass who had his heart forever taken by Corrales, and on WHOlio Diaz who's always been a mediocre fighter at best. Diaz isnt very good bro, face it. He was called the best at 135 by default because Castillo, and Corrales had moved up in weight, and Casa is like 65 years old.
