How can any of you say Zab quit?

The guy has shown time and time again how much heart he has.

He had the maturity of Lennox, the speed of Roy Jones and the heart of Holyfield.

If it weren't for that 16" gash across his forehead that went into his the left ventricle through the right atrium the fight would have went on.

What does this guy have to do to please you haters?

Sorry, I stand corrected. I forgot how he marched through the thunderous shots of Carlos Baldomir who was basically a 147 pound hybrid of Foreman and TYSON.

I have to disagree. I think Clottey is a tough fight for Williams. Williams won't hurt Clottey. Clottey has the superior firepower, better chin and is a pretty good boxer too.

Lol, Clottey would lose a ud. He is not a power puncher and he has the work rate of a 43 year old Bernard Hopkins. I think Berto would humiliate him and I know little about Berto's actual abiloity to fight. Clottey really dropped in my opinion tonight. Zab could do nothing to him and he refused to engage. I really believe he faked his hand injury to Margarito as he attempted to play off his arm was injured tonight.

Umm no Clottey doesnt have superior firepower. Power in this fight would be irrelevant. Neither could hurt the other. Williams has a very solid chin, and Clottey isnt a big puncher at all. Williams would outwork Clottey. Clot would have his moments scoring on Williams, but for the most part he'd be outworked.

I think I'd give Berto a pretty good chance at Clottey. In a year I'd probably favor him. I cant see Berto beating Marg, Williams, or Cotto(unless Miguel is ruined), but I can see him beating Clottey for the reasons you mentioned.

I used to liken Clottey to a poor man's Quartey, but really I was wrong cause their styles arent even similar. Prime Ike was an active, offensive beast who had WAY more firepower than Clottey and who looked to stop guys.

Clottey is more of a far less talented version of Marlon Starling.

Clottey is terrible. He is a welterweight Dominck Guinn. If I were HBO, I'd ban him from the network. Am I the only one who was offended by his lack of effort. There is such a disgusting lack of professionalism nowdays. I mean, this was an HBO fight the absolute top you can get as a pro boxer. Then, you have an opponent who can do fuck all to you. Perfect right? Not for Clottey, I thought the judges were right and he also literally stopped Judah with a punch, but he could have kayoed Zab 4 rounds earlier. In fact, all he had to do was try and he would have stopped Zab.

I wasnt all that happy with Clottey either,.. he showed some beautiful , beautiful LEGAL defence against Margarito and that's what impressed me about him, but yes,.. his workrate and perhaps mentallity need a bit of a boost, I knew he'd beat Zab though at his utter, utter worst, Zab is a fucking tomato can, I can't make it clearer, Clottey would beat Zab even if it was his pro-debut.

I agree, though comparing him to a bum like Guinn was a bit on the harsh side. I agree with the rest though. Dude just has no killer instinct. He couldnt even stop a shot welterweight Chico for Christ sake! He beat the living fuck outta Chico, but could never finish him. Any other top welterweight woulda blasted Corrales out at 147. In addition to having no killer instinct, he showed against Margarito that he has no desire, as he basically went into survival mode late and stopped trying to win. I know he hurt his hand, but Tony said after that the fight that he hurt his hand also. Yet he kept punching. Clottey bitched out. Thats why I have little interest in seeing a rematch between him and Marg, he'll just bitch out again.

Clottey has some talent. He blocks punches very well, has a good chin, and puts his punches together well w/pretty decent handspeed. But he's also flawed, and will never beat an elite fighter.

Just watched the fight for the first time and I was impressed by Clottey, generally speaking. I didn't expect him to lose, because he was fighting Zab, but he was winning far more confortably early doors than I expected.

Moreover, he was beating Zab to the punch much more often than I expected. For all that Zab is and always was a flashy mark, he did always have very quick hands, and I was surprised to see Josh land that stright right hand so often.

Whilst I agree that Clottey is never going to be a great fighter or anything like that, he is a talented guy for sure. He has an excellent, high, disciplined defense, good handspeed and a bit of pop. He might never beat an elite fighter, but he'll prove awkward and hard to shift for each and every one he faces IMHO.

This is partially because Zab's reflexes have badly declined. Not saying that a prime Zab would have won, just saying that Zab is clearly on the downside. Age, plus the beating he took against Cotto have robbed Zab of the talent that he WASTED. He's not NEARLY as quick on his feet as he once was, his reflexes are pretty much gone, and even his hands arent as fast as they once were.

I don't know about 140, but Judah clearly has the talent to be a dominant force at 135 or even 130.

Zab is a sucker for the lead right because he pulls straight back way too often. Even slow ass Baldomir was tagging him pretty easily with lead rights.

Cut was from a punch it seems.
I'm getting increasingly annoyed as a boxing fan with watching guys (Rahman/Zab), quitting & trying to steal a win.

I'm sure it was from the uppercut, Zab's reaction after that punch betrayed him.
