 Roy Jones won't provide much of it vs. Tyson...Jones will be moving and boxing...Tyson has quit when people were punching and pushing him back. Jones will be punching(tapping) him but with nothing behind it...and do you think Tyson won't land on Jones...at all?
Did McBride offer him a huge fight? No! Tyson still quit. And sure Tyson lands on Jones, but contrary to popular belief, Roy Jones before he became 40 and ridiculously shot, actually took punches and did not go unconscious anytime he was touched. It's not like he lands anymore often than Ruiz did, and Ruiz would actually fight for all 12 rounds, something Tyson almost never did, let alone this super shot version. Speaking of Ruiz, he beats this Tyson unquestionably, no matter how much you hate him.
I think you're being overly-sensitive in painting some kind of repeat pattern with me which just isn't there. I said I was confident Jones would never take the fight with Tyson. I never said Lopez would fight all & sundry in this hypothetical forum, or that Lopez had more (or less) courage than Jones. It's not as if I don't have Jones marked down as an all-time talent of the sport, as I do Lopez --- they're both candidates in that regard in my books, even if both have resumes which fall more than a little short of their remarkable abilities. I have not held Jones to a standard I don't hold Lopez to --- that is your interpretation, & I refute it. You're making out there is this consistent pattern of hypocrisy with me, when really all you've cited is these two fighters, & a claim that I am too critical of Jones' resume, & not critical enough of Lopez's. We really haven't discussed Lopez at the same lengths we have Jones in this forum, so how much conviction can you really call someone a hypocrite with?
Right, because Ruiz was easy to knockout, and the Tyson that would lose to journeyman like Williams and McBride was a bonafide killer.
There seems to be a misconception that this version of Tyson wouldve even fought Roy. He had already cashed out and was just looking for bums that would slug with him for quick paydays. The guy probably trained as much as James Toney did for his UFC fight. And despite that, he still went 1-2 against tomato cans.
Tyson in question is Tyson of 2003 . The Tyson of the Etienne fight. That Tyson still had good 3 rounds in him. More than enough to take out Roy. He would rush him get him to the ropes and take him out. No question about it. Tyson KO1. I'm 100% sure.
Roy actually called Tyson out after Tarver I: "Tyson then I'm done" (retired) And before anyone tries to be clever with "Tyson then I'm done" (dead), alas it has now been done. Anyway, I agree a Tyson with anything left most likely kills Roy, but this Tyson didn't have anything left, he was dangerous for a couple rounds thats it. Seriously, Roy just needs to survive two rounds and he's won, and he would survive.
Roy "called out " a lot of people...so does Floyd...Hell I called out Wlad Klitschko this afternoon. And no Roy would not survive 2 rounds with Tyson. No way no how. That's like letting a bull lose in a china shop and saying the china will surive for 6 minutes. No way no how.
100% of a mythical matchup. Good one. And the Tyson of 2003 is the one who didn't even train to be used as the highest-profile punching bag in the history of the sport. Etienne is a complete can, any reference of that to somehow justify an asinine prediction such as that one is fucking retarded. Oh, Roy beat Omar Shiekah therefore he must be able to be any good fighter! :atu: Not to mention, that Tyson was so fucking slow theres no way hes catching Roy or making him move anywhere. That Tyson was slower than Ruiz.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFvDsp0_SCM This fucking bum? Tyson could barely find this bum, let alone one of the most elusive fighters in the sports history? I really question how that fight would've went if he wouldn't have caught him. Not to mention he only caught him because the bum thought he could KO Tyson and ran right into it.
Now, for a more accurate representation of this pathetic fighter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16-ZwScDnWg&feature=related
I agree Tyson would never find him since Roy was very elusive and when I say elusive I mean avoid tough fights
2003 Tyson is the Tyson of the Lennox Lewis fight + mare 6 months . Roy wouldn't clinch Tyson, wouldn't push him back, would not make Tyson fear his power. Roy has nothing to hold Tyson back with. Roy is too weak physically to keep Tyson off of him. Tyson would murder him in one round no questions about it.
