Wladimira is so lucky the division is piss poor. When Spam Peter is considered the number 2 guy in the division, and a 175 year old Holy is still hanging around about to win a belt, you know the heavyweights have hit rock bottom.

Wlad's offense to me is overrated as hell! He doesnt even have a full arsenal! He has a jab, cross, and a hook. But wheres his uppercuts? If you're gonna compare him to the likes of Tyson, Foreman, and Lewis, those guys had power in both hands AND deadly uppercuts. They also possesed one thing in which Wlad lacks and thats killer instinct, which is important if you're an offensive beast as Sly hypes Wlad to be.

 

Yeah I admit he looks great delivering punishment against slow palookas who stand in front of him like statues.

Would Razor Ruddock, Zeljko Mavrovic, and Gregorio Peralta have lasted the distance with Wlad? I'm no Klitschko fan, but Wlad does have a really good offense - so did Tommy Morrison, for that matter. It's his lack of chin and defense that gives him trouble.

 

Xplosive is one of the site's most knowledgeable posters...NO DOUBT...but he's also perhaps THE MOST BIASED poster here! ::

When he doesn't like a guy you can't take his opinions on him seriously...

 

His offense is different, his uppercut isn't great (and I think it can be a vulnerability if he gets too brave with it)...but his left hook is a much greater weapon than Lewis' was, because he's more active with it and he mixes it so well.

Regarding killer instinct, Lewis was a boxer first and a puncher second.

 

No. You did by insinuating that Peter's offense sucked because he wouldn't last the distance with Lewis.

 

Yeah, denying that Wlads OFFENSE is one of the best ever, is purly biased.

 

Weren't these criticisms around when Holyfield was in his prime and defending the titles against Larry Holmes and George Foreman?

(Not to mention McCall-Holmes, and Foreman's run as champion.)

 

I'd easily rank Wlad's offense as among the top 10 or 15 ever at heavyweight. He's about the same as Earnie Shavers. All offense and no defense.

How so? Wlad finished McCline and Peter couldn't even put him down.

 

When Wlad lets it loose, I agree his offense is up there with the very best. These days he however does have a defense which works very same way Lennox Lewis' did. He keeps his right hand taped on his temple, keeps long distance and controls the fight with his jab. His right hand is only allowed to move when he can't miss with it. Up close, he simply holds and leans to avoid getting caught with big shots. Of course it is yet to be seen how effective Wlad's tactics are in the end but right now he does have also a defensive plan, which he used to lack

Then why did he get raped by an AIDS-infested Tommy Morrison?

 

First off, Ruddock was past his prime when he fought Morrison. He was never really the same after the Tyson wars, and his destruction at the hands of Lummox. Second of all, he HARDLY got "raped". If you think that I question if you actually saw that fight! Razor was beating the shit outta Tommy until Morrison landed that hook, AND the fight was stopped VERY prematurely. Lastly, Morrison had something Wlad lacks, its called HEART!

 

I think Wlad would have destroyed Ruddock!
