4th wasn't even certain, 3rd is a massive bonus. It's truly surprising. Leicester at one point were 7 clear.

Wouldn't be surprised if Carlo got the sack. The game was basically meaningless but talk about going out on a low note. Then again, would it really matter?

Just looking at that now.........10th, from a team that were threatening 4th at one point.

Everton got their much needed win at Anfield, all they need was a once in a fucking century virus and a total collapse in Liverpools form brought on by myriad factors.

Arsenal miss out on Europe. I think they should sack that Wenger guy.

Newcastle finished STRONG, 17 clear of relegation

I think we can expect Villareal to try and defend this lead for 45 minutes. If United get one- they will get two.

I can't think of except just 1 occasion when United went behind and equalized only to lose and that was at home to Sheffield United.

Paul Scholes was chatting mad shit in the studio before the game. He called La Liga a weak league and said that Barcelona and Real were shite in this years tournament. He failed to point out JUST WHY it was that United came to be in the Final this year. Honestly that chap does strike me as having ZERO introspection.

Think, Paul......THINK! Why are United in the Europa League, Paul :Jest:

Paul scholes with magic in commentary again.

I read he hasn’t saved a penalty since April of 2016. Goalkeepers generally aren't really expected to save them but that's quite a statistic.

Tuchel is in his head. Three wins in six weeks over the invincibles.

I think Chelsea will win the league next season. Horrible to watch as always but they just have that knack for winning. I agree with Wiser too that Tuchel seems to have the tactical upper hand over Pep.

Credit to Brentford by the way, don't like them but they're a really well run club and they deserve their time in the sun. I actually think they'll do alright in the Prem, could see them hanging about for a bit like Charlton back in the day.

Chelsea's success since Tuchel arrived isn't going to bode well for Lampard's future as a manager. They were hammered shit under him.

Its possible but i think they're a game day team like Liverpool under Rafa rather than a 38 game team.

That said i saw old Fagin in the stands last night and hecwas rubbing his hands with glee, high fiving, maybe he'll get his chequebook out again.

They're still vulnerable. They got beat 5-2 at home by West Bum.

Lets face it... Pepatitis Z fucked up last night in a way that really beggars belief.

Apparently Man Utd looking to re-sign Ronaldo in a swap deal with Pogba going to Juve.

Very intersting now how the foul- because that's what it was- of Rudiger on De Bruyne is being cynically played down- denied even- by the woke media.

Even the Daily Mail is in on the act.

"collision"," "forced off injured", "clash" are the sorts of words being used.

Here's the Guardian. "Cynical Check" is as far they go. This is their main article for the game.

The words "Foul", "Card", "Yellow" do not appear. An explicit effort is made to not refer to what happened- a foul resulting in a booking broke DeBruynes nose and fractured his orbital cheek bone.

We will of course recall how much was made of Bill Joe Saunders identical injuries. lol

This is the Guardians blow-by-blow account, published, supposedly, in real time~:

Manchester City 0-1 Chelsea: 2021 Champions League final – as it happened

Rudiger is mentioned once, ex post facto, and in the most oblique fashion possible. Again the word "check" is used.

"FOUL" does not appear in a thousands-of-words entry. NOT ONCE. In a blow-by-blow account.

Chelsea win Champions League after Kai Havertz stuns Manchester City

Now compare this to the media after the Salah-Ramos incident

For consistency, let us use the same Newspaper...........

Salah looked inconsolable as he was led from the pitch and Sergio Ramos had some nerve offering a sympathetic hug on the way off. Ramos had locked Salah’s right arm and turned him, judo-style, as they lost balance going for the same ball. Television replays hardened the suspicion it was a calculated move on Ramos’s part and, when Salah landed with a hell of a thud, the damage was considerable. That blow could conceivably put the Egyptian out of the World Cup, too.

    Not content with it, they followed it up......even going so far as to note that the action of Ramos which resulted in Salahs departure was not even judged to be foul play :Jest: {which of course it was, but, a fortiori, why refrain from alluding to foul play which results in a booking, having made so much of foul play which did not?}

Flashpoints of 2018: Sergio Ramos shoulders Mo Salah out of final

What am I going to do? Believe them, or my own lying eyes :Jest:
