I thought Belgium played nothing more than a good Klopp style pressing game that involved them taking their chances when they arrived. Reminded meva lot og Italy vs Turkey. A good diligent pressing/possession game against a sort of, as you put it, dour uninaginative unadventurous opponent.

I've been generally unimpressed. Perhaps today will show more.

Needless to say, no sooner have i come around to the notion of supporting England than Southgate and his FA goons have given me a reason not to.

I wonder what electric jiggery pokery will be deployed today to defeat the booers.

Tactically speaking these matches aren't nearly in the same level as the best games of Premier league or CL.

It is quite natural too, as those teams train ten times a week all year whereas these guys get together for a month.

Englands tactics and philosophy have changed not one bit from 3 years ago. More running, more pressure, more chances, more affletizizm,.... They better have his win by the 60th, 70th minute,or hope that Croatia are just as tired as they will be by then.

There's one particular Croatian who keeps getting booed. Don't expect that to make the papers.

Big chance for Croatia after a period of relentless England pressure. We've seen this movie before.

    Placed that bet moments ago.

I was going to include Kane and Foden at 120-1 .....

......and Kanes just missed, and fucked himself.

Foden booked. Goal apart.... Very patchy perdormance from England thus far. Sterling did his best to miss but he always does.

England are basically younger, a bit more cohesive, better bench. That's it. Still one mistake/missed chance away ftom blowing this.

I didn't see the game but i'm sure the goal England scored wasn't because of anything positive they did but poor dafendin' by the Croats. Also the Croatian manager got the tactics wrong and didn't pick the correct starting XI.

Same. I'm as cynical as anyone when it comes to Ingerland but I thought they controlled the game from start to finish. Good performance.

I am guessing some Croatian spent their day "editing" England players' wikipedia pages.

Hrvatski je menadžer pogriješio taktiku i nije izabrao ispravnih početnih jedanaest. Također sudac nije bio dobar!

Croatia didn't show me anything. But it will suffice for now. I reckon McGinn and Robertson might ask England harder questions in the cooler weather later in the week.

Yeah I can't remember a clear cut Croatian chance. We could have been more clinical perhaps but overall I can't fault the performance, we played well. Even Sterling who I think is the most overrated player in world football had a good game. Decent start, am happy.

England were leagues ahead for the first 20 minutes. By far the better side overall.

Looking forward to the Dutch tonight. That will be interesting..
    ....

North Macedonia gave it a right go too. Oh and I think the Balkans produces more wankers per square yard than anywhere else. That Arnautovic is a prime example.

Rebic snatched at one that a better player might have taken. Kyle Walker could be a liability moving forward. Trippier inclusion was a no brainer, without him England have only Mount to offer a threat from set pieces/dead balls. Trippier played well and his departure from Spurs has just coincided with their recent collapse.
