Of course the only Everton player in action today (Digne of France) went off injured.

    I don't drink IPA.

Regular pale ale is okay but one of my least favorite ales.

I immediately switch off when the games over. Watching Steve Bannons shoe about how the Hedge funds are jammed on the AMC stock. More sense in his cold opening than in 2 hours of Lineker and his shit.

Right, let's be positive. It's Germany next round and they've not looked unbeatable by any means. Sweden or Ukraine for the winners in the last 8  And likely Holland or Denmark in the last four.

It's not a murderers row, is it, if we squeak past the Germans...?

    Sweden vs Ukraine?

That's a hell of a lot of yellow & a hell of a lot of blue.

    Yes. That's what I said.

And by the time England reach the semi finals, there is 60K at Wembley.

See how it comes together, just gotta not shit the bed vs a very very average Germany.

The caveat though is that they've played against far superior opposition than what England have faced.

I do think we can win, but we've got to really go for it. Start with Foden and Grealish, fast tempo, get at them. Germany are vulnerable but I really don't trust Southgate to pick the right players or use the right tactics to exploit those weaknesses.

It is about time England stepped up and beat one of the top sides, been overdue for a good while now. If we have any plans to win the fuckin thing then now is the time.

When was the last time England beat a former World/European champion in a knockout fixture in a major tournament? Denmark 2002 I think? If so that is a shocking record.

It's weird because a lot of folks my age forget about the celebration, I assume most people took their eyes off the screen after the penalty, but I remember how pissed off I was with that celebration. World class shithousery :Jest:

I don't even know, I just remember being really fucked off by it :Jest:. I remember reading somewhere that it was a pisstake of a Gazza celebration but I don't know if that's actually true or not.

At the time I thought it was a response to Gazza's emphatic celebration of his own penalty but either way, like slice said, classic shithousery

For a German it was very inventive and irritating.

Why does Jurgen Klinsmann sound like that Vietnamese kid from the goonies?

Germany have struggled with anybody who can put up a good defensive effort. England not only haven't conceded yet, they have considerably more to offer going the other way. Hungary managed to put two past them even while parking the bus. This three at the back system has got to go. Luckily this is Low's last tournament in charge. (and most probably penultimate match)

I know there is no prediction contest but i might be out of town this weekend so posting it now.

    Belgium
    Portugal

Took two penalties and a save of the tournament quality stop just to make it level against a France side who were already through. De Bruyne and co. will find the back of the net more than once.

    Italy
    Austria

Seems a forgone conclusion. Unless Austria manage to score first there won't even be much tension.

    France
    Switzerland

    No explanation needed.

    Croatia
    Spain

No, Spain aren't what they once were but they've handled what's in front of them which is all that's required. Upset much more likely than in most of the other KO games though.

    Sweden
    Ukraine

Who cares, neither of these sides is winning the tournament.

    England
    Germany

Already posted my thoughts on this one. Would be funny if Germany looked the better side and England won on penalties to witness the narrative swing about "luck" and lotteries though.

    Netherlands
    Czech Republic

The Dutch have benefitted from any easy group and the 9 points they earned is a red herring. Even with that said i don't see the Czechs having enough quality to undo them.

    Wales
    Denmark

I'll go for the upset special in this one.

I have been an Everton fan since '04. It's always been "Kopite" on the forums. If they fucked it up, they fucked it up a long time ago.
