Wow! That's crazy. Yeah, Mexico's unpredictable and the rough spots are truly rough. I was a little nervous to go down to Guanajuato City (I was a last minute replacement for someone) but my brother assured me it's crime rates were lower than our hometown (not saying much these days.) Even in the apartment where we stayed, while nice, had open electrical wires nearby and one of the security measures they took to keep people from trying to get to the walkway without a key was to implant broken beer bottles upside down along the side. Jesus!

We played pool in a restaurant basement that looked like a nice building. Every so often the basement would fill with enough smoke to make everyone cough. We figured out we were in a traffic tunnel and the exhaust from cars was coming straight in through ventilation vents unfiltered.

My mom's uncle was born and raised in Mexico. He used to always take us to the "nice" spots when he had a chance. I don't think he really did it on purpose he's just one of those guys that likes the dive bar scene.:Jest:

From the outside you couldn't really tell it was that dumpy. Actually even the inside was OK although we were on a patio. The washroom though, lets just say even if there was such thing as a health code it wouldn't have made the grade. Regulations of any kind seem to be none existent even in the tourist areas where it's opening for everyone to witness We were in Puerto Vallarta one year they were constructing what was presumably going to be a high rise hotel and the workers were up 25 stories or so with absolutely no safety equipment in sight.

    Sounds about right.

Joe Rogan said when he was working on Fear Factor, he got invited to go down and see the Mexican version of Fear Factor being filmed. He said they were doing one of the same challenges they did in the US. Contestants run through a hallway that's on fire. He said in the US version, the contestants and cameramen had to wear fire suits. In Mexico, contestants were running through in shorts and tank tops. There's definitely a "I don't give a fuck" mentality that runs through Mexican blood.

Sure there are some cultural differences but poverty certainly backs a lot of it. For example with the construction site i posted with guys wearing zero safety equipment. In Canada or the U.S. on a huge commercial project like that if somebody slipped and fell to their death from such a height and they found out afterward about those conditions there would be some issues to say the least.

In Mexico the head the attitude would be

    * also by saying "North America" above i meant excluding Florida

That loser was trying to make a comeback a few years ago and was paying UFC fighters to say that he helped them train for fights.

Steven Seagull? A known bullshitter. He's also made somr horrifically bad movies.

But he did fuck, and then beat, Kelly LeBrock and beat the #metoo rap. That's major kudos, right there.

He really was Hard to Kill.

They don't want Italian cars being destroyed should they lose to England in the final.

The speed and efficacy of both sides pressing games is brilliant. It's not mindless running, it's very applied effort.

Great goal by Italy. I would like to see Spain tie it rather than watch one team look to equalize while the other hangs on only looking to counter.

Spain are one of my favourite sides since childhood. Hard to see them going out like that. Then again... Nobody wins two penalty shootouts in the same tournament, do they?

This Argentina-Colombia game is heating up. Colombia is hanging with them.

Argentina had a two on one breakaway with the Colombia goalkeeper laid out at the top of the box and they managed to not score somehow.

Its been a pity how that tournament flew under the radar. Kudos to the BBC for televising it and plugging it.

And now theres the glamour final.

Columbia did the same with England 3 years ago. Only started playing in the last 20 minutes then looked good.
