The everton plans look class On the waterfront and next to a currently rundown wee area called 'ten streets' that liverpool council have big plans for. Could end up the coolest match day venue in britain, i think.

New season just two days away. I've done my end of season bets. They are as followed:

Exact top 4 finish in EPL - Citeh, 'pool, Spurs, Arsenal
3 teams to be relegated from EPL (any order) - Brighton, Norwich, Sheffield Utd

Top 2 teams promoted from Championship (any order)- West Brom and Brentford
4 teams to make the Playoffs (any order) - Cardiff, Fulham, Leeds, Bristol City
3 teams to be relegated from Championship (any order) - Birmingham, Millwall, Reading

Brentford won't go up, at least not automatically. Good side admittedly but they can never put a whole season together, and the Championship is a long old slog.

Championship seems cooler than the prem these days tbh, lots of big clubs from big cities, lots of good away trips, no chinese fake fans or padded seats

True. They've spent around £18 million which is the most a Championship side has spent on transfers right now. That's showing intent and they're moving to a new stadium next season so they'll be really pushing hard to get promoted before moving there. Positive signs from them and I've a gut feeling that they might just do it, but I'll probably be completely wrong and they'll finish 10th or something.

Leeds and Fulham are highly fancied to go up automatically but you normally find that the favourites don't go up automatically and often finish outside the Playoffs. Stoke and Middlesbrough were strong favourites to do really well last season but both failed to even make the top 6. Stoke finished well down the table.

Liverpool won't win it or finish 2nd. No investment, classic Liverpool post "2nd finish last season"- living on the dregs of yesteryear with a gameplan that the rest are by now wise to.

Suddenly Everton can afford to offer a £25m signing as a sweetner on a £55m offer for a mook like Zaha?

    Irish drives a hard bargain

If Celtic finished 3rd in the CL Group stages, I'd be boasting "BEST SIDE IN EUROPE!!!!" to bemused supporters of other clubs, never mind winning the actual trophy

I know how it usually goes in the League when Liverpool finish 2nd and do not invest over the Summer.

    I didn't mention European football.

On year at Sunderland, we had the infamous beach-ball incident. The point was made to Steve Bruce that the rules of the game state that no goal shall stand if the ball travels to the net via an interaction with a foreign object on the field.

Bruce said anybody who knew the rules "needed to get out more"...........

The following Season, Bruce came to Anfield and this happened:

And what did Bruce want to talk about after the Game? The fucking Rules.

So jog on you squashed nosed twat Bruce.

I don't see Liverpool winning the title but I can't see them finishing outside the top 4 either. They're going to have to receive a lot of bad luck for that to happen.

Gotta say, Liverpool have looked kinda wank in pre-season, but they are missing some key players. Pre-season means fuck all though, I remember we looked shit hot in pre-season against some good sides in Europe, then when the season began we set a Premier League record for most games without a win from the start of the season. Nearly lasted till Christmas. Wouldn't read too much into it.

It's not that they have looked "Bad" {in fact it has been a very mixed bag, good close game with Dortmund, smashed by Napoli, only a late loser to Sevilla, beat Lyon, drew with Sporting...those are good teams} but look at how good everyone else has looked and look at how tired Liverpools key players are likely to be. Throw in that Liverpool have NEVER improved on 2nd and NEVER matched 2nd in the year after 2nd.

But there was a 25 point gap between Liverpool in 2nd and Chelski in 3rd. That's not just a bit of a gap, that's light years we're talking. If Liverpool suffer major injuries for long spells of the season, they'll have problems, but if not then they've got too much firepower to not be within a chance of winning the title. I just have a gut feeling that they'll come up quite short.

And let's not forget that Chelski are in a stage of transition now, with Lampard in, a transfer embargo and having to blood their youngsters. They'll struggle to finish in the top 4. Spurs will most likely finish 3rd but in terms of winning the title, it's such a massive ask. Just to close the gap on Liverpool and Citeh will take some doing. I think their best chance for silverware is in one of the domestic cups or trying to go one better in the CL. Man Utd and Arsenal need to show consistency. Score more goals, concede less.

There was a 25-point gap between City and Liverpool the season before last. The season before that Chelsea finished 15 points ahead of City, shit changes fast at the top. The only constant in football is that QPR are disappointing.
