Not sure about amazing. When you manage Real, PSG, Bayern, Juventus and Chelsea it's kind of expected you'll win titles. No title = sacked.

I think if i were European traveler i would check to see if any club from my country were playing a big match that coincided with my visit before i made plans. Some German dude in Glesga on business who's not even a sports fan hops into a bar for a drink and gets beaten up because of his accent. :Jest:

Kind of makes me wonder if that happened if fans would have a huge laugh or still be angered because it the attackers did it thinking the victim was "one of theirs".

Question: if we award 10 points for playing talent and 10 points for coaching talent, who is the greatest all-round football man ever? Cruyff?

Perhaps. Other names that come to mind would be Beckenbauer and Zidane.

    Gotta by Cruyff.

I can see why he's often considered the 4th greatest ever behind Messi/Pele/Maradona.

I think it has to be Cruyff by a fair bit followed by Beckenbauer. Maybe if Clough hadn't gotten injured at a fairly young age he could have been up there. He was by all accounts a phenomenal footballer.

Dalglish should get an honourable mention too, although his managerial career from Newcastle onwards was pretty awful.

    Ancelotti needs a mention.

In fact I'd have him ahead of Cruyff.

Ancelotti did , as a manager, the double with Chelsea, a European cup with Milan and one Final, two finals with Real, winning one and the other pending. That's just what I can think of.

As a player he won the lot with AC Milan.

He did, but he destroyed that Newcastle side and they were woeful against Arsenal in the final. The Liverpool side he inherited in 2011 wasn't the best but there were still some world class players like Suarez there. You have to measure him against his own past successes and I think even he'd say he didn't do too well.

Whilst all the stuff he did win is amazing, what actually stands out to me is how close he got Parma to winning their first ever Serie A title. He just had the misfortune of going up against maybe the best Juventus side ever, when Serie A was by far and away the best league in the world. Even then he only missed out by a point or something.

Rangers in a final? Luckily for Paris they're hosting the CL instead of Europa.

I can imagine the headlines. "The Nazis did less damage in 39" :Jest:

James Maddison is like a far less talented version of Foden.

When Maddison is "on", he's a very good player but yeah he's very patchy.
