Newcastle is getting Gabi Barbosa from Flamengo. I mentioned Barbosa previously. He's definitely a talented striker in Brazil. We'll see if it translates to the top level.

Haven't really seen a lot of news on the Newcastle front. Who've they signed so far and what are the rumored targets?

 

Signed Nick Pope, Matt Targett and just announced Sven Botman. About £60m spent thus far. It's a brand new back line brought in since Jan. Looking more for a RM or a CF, or ideally both. A £35m fee was agreed for Hugo Ekitike with Reims but his agent has taken the piss so had been told to fuck off.

It's been a very sensible rebuild so far. No stupid money spent on one player, no big-name, mercenary style signings. The ground is being significantly tidied up and planning permission to rebuild the training ground has been obtained. The new second strip has had people clucking today. It's basically a troll kit.

@Hut*Hut Lewis Morgan continues to play very well on this side of the pond. He's honestly been one of the best players in MLS this year.

By chance i was just going thru all our signings under Brendan Rodgers and he's one of two domestic signings along with a guy called Jack Hendry who were total busts here yet went on to do really, really well abroad (Hendry at Brugge in Belgium). The right shaped pegs for the wrong holes, I guess. Its happened to us a few times & probably speaks to how unsystematic our scouting was for years pre-Postecoglou....there was a guy at Norwich who banged in like 15 goals in the premiership recently who we couldnt get a lick of use out a few years prior.

 

Celtic have finalized the signing of an Argentinian left back & as always my first port or call to figure out what we have is the stats map.... jumping out is that he was the 100th percentile in Argentinan fitbaw for both pressing and sprints per game. In january we signed a guy from Japan called Maeda who was 100th percentile there in those two metrics and ive never seen anything like it, he's having a ratting dog on the park in a hooped jersey. The prospect of adding another one is pretty appetising.

 

Fuck yeah! Shaping up to be the best transfer window since Martin O'Neil's first year. Still need a ball playing centre back and a big, athletic number 6. But Big Ange knows this
