Xplosive, how the fuck is Rugby League not more popular in the States? It's such an attack minded, physical game. It's not as popular as Rugby Union (I prefer League and always have), but I would have thought that the style of play would go down well across the pond.

 

Rugby is a complete non-entity here. Like, its not even a tiny blip on the radar. I doubt even 5 Americans follow it.

Football/soccer is gaining in popularity though. I think it's possible that in 10 years, the MLS might replace Major League Baseball as our third biggest sport.

Speaking of the MLS, Jack Grealish 100% said that he's coming over to the states one day. Whether or not that means in his mid 30s, I dunno.

It's just surprising to me that Rugby (League) isn't more popular as it's closer to Gridiron than Rugby Union is.

I don't watch much MLS at all but I do watch some of the goals and there are some outstanding goals scored.

 

The quality is still well behind the top leagues, but at this rate, within 10 years that probably changes. I dont think its crazy to say that by 2030, MLS might be like the 5th best league.

The way I see it is that any American who might be naturally interested in rugby is already invested in American Football. Hence the complete lack of interest in it.
