    It looked to me that LFC just did a good job of stopping them passing to Lukaku. Every time he did touch the ball it was some awkward lunge or a 50/50 ball in the box. They deserve credit for that.

    It's harder to judge LFC because they were playing against ten men for half the match but Chelsea's defense are something no one will look fwd to playing. In the CL final , their back three were much more solid than City's back four and they looked great again today.

    Not too distraught about today....long way to go with this team, that we lose tight games to decent teams at this stage is totally expected. Ange needs at least two more transfer windows to fill in the missing pieces. Other than leftback i actually think the biggest problem is 'number 8'- turnbull has some real creative talents in packpassing when the games in front of him but pretty clear deficiencies too in terms of mobility, competitiveness in duels/ball retention etc in more competitive games. He just doesnt provide the outlet we need playing out against better teams, far too easily crowded out
