Villa starting to look like a unit. Take the two mistakes out of their game today and they'd be seeing this one out handily.

NUFC look doomed. Another dreadful effort today. Time to decide whether the gamble is to pay to stay up our to start planning to rebuild everything from div two.

Yeah NUFC look betwixt and between right now.

    Trippier says ambition.

Wood? Wood says desperation and survival.

Great win! We've been pulling results out at the death all season, glad the luck hasn't run out yet. Super Charlie Austin loves the big games.

Whilst Seaman was a better keeper I think I'd actually have Pickford as my choice. In the league he is a liability and makes stupid errors all the time, but for England, especially in major tournaments, he's been excellent. He's also consistently good in penalty shootouts, which for an England goalkeeper is a huge plus with our record.

This Brentford side got bashed at St Mary's. I think it's time to start booing Liverpool sides off at half time.

Is Ward-Prowse a better free kick taker than Beckham? I have a feeling his conversion rate might be better but I can't be arsed to check.

Ward Prowse is lethal. Southampton have a lot of these Micky Wards in their team, guys who don't do a lot well but do a few things really well. It's why they get spanked and do some spanking themselves.

This high counter press with hatate and, especially, maeda is absolute money. We look as dangerous when we give it away in the final third as when passes complete

This was no true stream of the game, but I briefly watched highlights.

Maeda can certainly finish in front of goal. Celtic might have themselves quite a player - ill be rooting for him.

I thought we looked really exciting in the first half then seemed to just settle for letting the second half fizzle out....given our recent injury history i guess you might ascribe that to 'game management'.
