It's annoying, but yeah a 3-point gap isn't too bad. We've got to start taking these opportunities to break into that top 2 when they come about though (I know we wouldn't have gone 2nd tonight because of the Bournemouth result, but still).

I'd like Forest to go up, obviously as long as it's not at our expense.

The second half drop off's been a built in feature all year- id attributed it to tiredness due to lack of depth but if it continues we're gonna have to hunt for alternative explanations

Ive always thought id be cool to have Forrest, Leeds & Wednesday back as permanant or semi-perm top tier features. All 3 will need ground improvements etc longterm but they're historically toptier clubs (in a way burnley, bournemouth, brentford, brighton etcetc will never be).

Horrible ground pittodrie, especially in winter....right next to the north sea, totally exposed at the corners and seagulls are constantly threatening to 9/11 you for the scraps of a pie. Aberdeen keep claiming to be on the verge of a stadium move but it never seems to happen

Irish- what formation would you say Liverpool actually play? Like if you actually took each players average positiin. 2-4-2-1? Sellik are very obviously a 2-3-4-1 despite always getting notated down as 4-3-3 same as LFC

How small/inconspicuous are they these days? I can def see me needing one in the future, my hearing is moderately bad already....a lot of gigs and loud headphones over the years.

My Dads stone deaf in one ear as a result of an Iggy Pop gig at the barras. Moderately cool as reasons for life-limiting impairments go

Honestly, its barely noticeable. I have long hair so that helps, but the mould matches your skin tone, the tube is transparent and the aid itself can be chosen to match your hair colour, so it isn't noticeable unless you look really close.

My favourite was always 4-2-3-1.... I can't fucking stand getting caught out by shite over the top like we have been done all year.

Its not just politics though its policies too.

You need the right guys in those positions.

I'd love if prime Torres was back, or we had Haaland.

I'd stick them up front as the tip of the attack with Mane and Salah behind him.

Its just pedantry i guess but modern fullbacks are always more in line with the '6's than the centre backs im never sure why we keep calling it a back 4. Definitely in LFCs case. But its particularly obvious in sellik's case right now cause we regularly do the inverted full back thing so, very often, the fullbacks are literally taking up a 6 position, fairly central, and creating a double pivot type set up alongside McGregror. As for the '3' up top.... the wingers are clearly in line with the two centre midfielders rather than the 9. In fact with Hatate and O'Riley, you're getting frequent switching from wing to '8' and vice versa now. Even with Kyogo playing, the striker is purposefully isolated when we have the ball, he's basically told to make runs within the width of the posts and wait for his moment. Its solidly a 2-3-4-1, not a 4-3-3

Burnley are a more historically significant club than Birmingham imo. Sure, the latter is based in the second-biggest city in the UK but they're massively overshadowed by Villa. They've won a couple of league cups and that's it, where as Burnley have actually been a force at the top-end of English football.

Jota is a classic example of the guy who looks totally out of place in football but is probably top 10 right now in terms of his form.

Bit like 'Buckfast Alley' (in north lanarkshire) or 'death valley' (in west dumbartonshire) up here - ex industrial towns which arent well connected enough with the nearest big city to transition to new economy or attractive enough to pull affluent commuters. Everyone with even school level qualifications leaves at 18 and the rest are left to sign on and/or die. My grandad lived in Alexandria, its sad seeing how left behind these places are. Folk in their 40s hobbling about in stained tracksuit bottoms. And its hard to think of any real solution. In places like France, Spain, Italy small, remote/isolated towns are often quaint, attractive pre-industrial villages that can attract retirees or even, now, zoomers. How tf do you reinvent Airdrie?

Celtic have this winger called Abada. 19 year old. He's averaging nearly 0.8 goal contributions per game (ie goal or direct assist) and its been similar in europe. Yet he cant beat a man to save his life (9th percentile among spfl wingers for dribble success rate - now thats shite) and his overall contribution outside key moments is really low. Not much contribution defensively either. He basically hardly touches it unless he's setting up or scoring a goal. Really hard to evaluate a guy like that ....do you judge end product on face value or is he just benefitting from being a shoddily made cog in an otherwise well functioning machine. In Ange we trust.
