Crazy games and scorelines today. Everton sure pulled that result out of their arse. Mental. Still not sure who is going down (apart from Southampton).

If Leicester go down, Vardy will have won the Premier League, FA Cup and been relegated all with the same club. Surely that's a first?

Premier League, yes, because it's not the "Old First Division Title".....where you could look is at the Man United Squad of 1963 that won the FA Cup, won the Title in 1967 and then the European Cup in 68 before being relegated in 1974.

If there is a guy who won it all and got relegated with the same club, he'll be in there.

It's a stretch, but George Best was part of the United Squad who won the cup in 1963.

He won the league and European cup in between.

He was also part of the squad who got relegated in 1974.

That's a good'un, never realised Best was part of the side that got relegated as well.

Without checking Wiki for his age, Best must have been young as fuck in 63.

I don't think Best entered his peak/prime until around circa 66, I think.

Yeah he was spotted at a very young age and signed by Man U, and was fast tracked into the first team as his talent was so freakish. Like you say, I don't know his exact age at the time but he would have been young. Might explain why he declined so quickly too, having all that success at an early age and obviously all the stuff he got involved with off the pitch too.

As much as there was the booze and all that, injuries must've shortened careers much more back then too, even for guys who avoided big injuries....combine the lack of decent physio, knee/ankle operations with the pigsty pitches and sheer violence of defending & guys like Best mustve been wracking up things like wee niggly cartilage tears that never quite fully healed. Can you play? Yeah boss, it just hurts a bit

Madrid needed a 2-0 result in order to pull this off (sick goal by Vini though). City getting a draw is all they needed. They should close it out at the Etihad.

I'm thinking its gonna be City vs Inter in the final.

He retired to Lanzarote in 1972 and came back in 1973.

Shorter prime than Riddick Bowe :Jest:

Wikipedia says his last game for United was Jan 1974, beaten by QPR, then he went missing and was certainly finished by then. Allegedly the club was split across the top, with a tier of "legends" doing as they saw fit and having nothing to do with the kids coming through. Relegation followed.

But it can be said that he "got relegated" with United.

He went missing in Europe after that.

I think the mid-to-late 70s he started playing in the States for a side in LA. Was probably fucking more California women than he was working at his game.

The guy blew it, simply. Incredibly he was up for consideration for the 1982 World Cup Squad with Northern Ireland but had "fitness" issues.

He was 35 in 1982. He'd basically been in decline all his prime years.

Yeah agreed. A draw suits City just fine. You have to expect Pep will play either Foden or Mahrez in the return leg, I've no idea why they didn't get any minutes last night either to be honest.

Who have people got winning the all-Milan semi-final? And are they just sacrificial lambs for the Real-City winner?

I think Inter. They've been in really good form lately.

Citeh appears to have too much depth and artillery for anyone, but it's one game, so ya never know.

Always thought highly of Dzeko, quality player. He was massively underrated in the Prem.
