England walloped Samoa by 54 points. Samoa all hype. Best part of Samoa's performance was their Haka.

Great effort pal. Never played padel. Had to look it up after you mentioned it to see what the fuck it was. Genuinely never heard of it.

Cheers dude. Great sport, perfect mix between tennis and squash, would highly recommend. Its massive in Spain, Argentina, Italy and Sweden. It's gradually gaining more exposure here, Andy and Jamie Murray are putting big money into building more courts in the UK. Fucking workout though I tell you, my legs are shot to bits right now :Jest:

Went out again tonight.....felt I had it in me after 4 to put the ears back which was amazing considering I could really feel the tears/soreness in my legs all day.

So I banged in a 5:33 in the final lap and of the three 5k I've done (Thu/Fri/Sat) Sat was the fastest, 30:56 .... Under a minute shy of breaking the 30m barrier again.

    So there's a first....3 5000m in a row. I'll make it 4 tomorrow.

Outside of my thighs are sore enough now though

I'd only heard of it tangentially via looking at trainers. I actually own a pair of of ASICS Gel Padel Pro......I bought them cos I liked the colours and thought they'd be good for skipping rope in..this is before I took up the running.

The Spanish always played ball games, they had one called "Pelota" which literally means "ball" , i think they brought it back from the New World as it was.

Did you ever hear of Jai Alai?

I did. I've always wanted to play both versions, the traditional Spanish one and Jai Alai which became huge in Florida in the 80's (and to a lesser extent the wider USA at the time). I doubt I'd be any good but the ball travels at insane speeds, would be great fun to play I reckon.

Haha, was actually thinking of getting those! My padel shoes have done me proud but I think they only have a few months left in them. Are the Asics comfortable?

To my embarrassment I've never tried them on but they're always the only make of trainer that fit me straight out the box, ASICS.

So nice looking too ....I tend to hoard nice trainers

Might buy these next week actually mate. They are very good looking shoes. I'm at the stage where I'm having to superglue parts of the sole on my current padel shoes, they're just getting so worn.

Any shoes where you have to make constant sudden directional changes will just absolutely destroy the fuckers, so as long as they're hardy and have good grip that'll do me.

They're a very tight shoe, not cloth or mesh, but more of a leather/rubber finish. Sole is very grippy. Much more of an indoor football or badminton shoe than a pure running shoe. They make a sound when you drop them unlike the running runners some of which are impossibly light.

You can't go wrong with leather and rubber :p

I usually try mesh/gel for running but my big toe usually comes through the mesh in due course especially if I'm kicking a ball.

ASICS are the only brand I'll buy. Guaranteed fit. Everytime. 46.5/Size 11. And a massive range from £30 upwards.

I've tried Adidas. Had a nice pair of Puma too but ASICS are a can't-miss.
