I read about that. Apparently expected value in excess of 2.5 billion. They were bought for only £300 million 12 years ago. I told you to buy the club back then but you were all hot on Blockbuster stock and ignored my advice.

Just one estimate i read. Chelsea sold for over 4 and Abramovich got 2.5 from the sale so i guess they started there and went with "in excess" for Pool.

Make an appointment with you bank manager.

And these same people who demand the returns don't need a cent of them.

Apply for the job. If your Liverpool stockholdings are considered a conflict of interest you can hand them over to me.

Mixed bag results in the Cup tonight. City proceed Vs Chelsea, TBE....West Ham out on pennos, Ripper Playpen dumped out by Wolves, Arsenal stunned by Brighton comeback, Forest dumped Spurs out, Liverpool got past Derby eventually on penalties.

Netflix just released a documentary on how how corrupt FIFA is.

Probably nothing new to European football fans, but I'm sure it'll be informative to Yanks who think "soccer" is just a Saturday morning hobby for their kids.

    It's a 3 or 4 parterer.

I was watching it while it working, so I didn't have time to get fully immersed.

May watch it in full tonight.

It's insanely bent. For one simple reason: money.....there's no other sport on earth like it. Everybody wants in on it. Billions of people.

It's remarkable how, when you look at soccer,
it's such an odd odd sport that yet seems so obvious and natural. And there isn't a single country on earth that doesn't follow it..

And it's totally corrupt. Money like that bends people's morals.

Mate they could have group stages for that shit, knock out draws. Last year's champ Vs this year's pretender etc..

"Gianni Infantino topped his group ahead of novice Prince William, hapless Becks and seasoned corrupter Michel Platini....he is likely to meet Irish champion John Delaney who recently took Sepp Blatter into extra time over the Thierry Henry handball incident. That match was settled on financial penalties, with Delaney walking off with £5m to keep his mouth shut"

A guy called Brian Glanville wrote a book about corruption in the context of the European Cup in the 1960s. There were Hungarian bagmen, Spanish referees with sick kids who needed help and were offered help to throw games, etc.

Back then corruption was like a bad James Bond movie with all these stereotypes. Guys who survived WW2 camps and had bad lumps and 7 teeth would offer some geezer £40 to muss a penalty and he'd do it cos £40 was a deposit on that brand new Ford Corsair his missus wanted.

Today they just buy countries for fun.

Really happy to see Arsenal holding on. The World Cup won’t help City.

The impact remains to be seen. Injuries are always a worry but i don't see fatigue as being a big problem for anybody who doesn't reach at last the semis. It's still a World Cup so i don't expect the players to not take it seriously, but i get the feeling some players won't hate going home early as much as they might in previous tournaments. They'll also to be returning to work very quickly so the WC will be forgotten sooner as well.

Are Newcastle title contenders? They're getting results, against big teams too.

No. They are overachieving, biggly, with this squad of players. But they'll either be in, or very much around, the CL places by the time Jan rolls around. Two or three more astute signings and there is every chance of a top-4 finish this year.

In getting back into following boxing, I kinda fell off on football for like 2 months. Trying to catch up.

Watching the replay of WH vs Leicester. Damn, James Maddison is impressive this season.
