I can barely squat at all right now with this cursed hip flexor injury, its gone from irritating to debilitating this month & i think it needs an operation. My working theory is a small muscle has torn from the tendon.... Im sure our world class NHS will fix it before the 2030s are out

Sorry to hear that. Perhaps you can get in a dinghy and paddle ashore in Folkstone, introducing yourself as Akbar Hut and demanding women, accommodation and medical attention, in that order, forthwith?

I did a bit of reading yesterday and it turns out my squatting issues yesterday was all down to stiffness in the hips, doubtless brought on by the running.

    Lives and learns.

Barcelona have sold a bunch of assets to get their finances in order. It's needed to register players before the season starts. Apparently they have 7 unregistered at the moment.

What a shit show. If they keep having fire sales like this and it doesn't work out, the value of the assets they keep dumping is only going to decrease in value.

All these cheat clubs should have to do their time like Rangers did - go bust, start again in the bottom tier, see you in ~10 years.

Are their similarities between Rangers and Barca's financial woes other than what appear to be gross mismanagement and overspending?

For a person they can go bankrupt, lose the house, the car etc. But they can kind of start off with a clean slate. Creditors and what not can't come years later and say "well now that you're making money again we want some". (well i guess they can but you can tell them to fuck off)

I would think it would be much different for a club no? If Barcelona sold off a bunch of their TV rights and other assets i would assume the owners of those properties still hold on to them even if they become worthless. So if they went bust and tried to come back wouldn't whomever owns those assets just start collecting again?

A little suspicious about the recent sale of 25% of Barca studios. If the company committed to buying the stake default on payments after a few months, do the players become 'unregistered' again?

Probably not i would guess. Although i wouldn't be surprised if there was some form of "punishment" for that.

Can't believe City sold Jesus and Zinchenko to Arsenal. Absolute ballers.

Commentator said 0-4 is the worst Man U have been down at half time in PL history is that correct?

They also subbed three at half time. I know they changed the rules this season but how often does that happen with any side?

Jason Sancho is on £270,000 per week. He was signed for £70m

But the Glazers are to blame.

Yep. Also watching the game some things were pretty straightforward. Brentford simply outworked them most of the game. At the top level hard work alone isn't going to win trophies but Manure aren't at a high level even though their expenditures and name might make it seem so.

If you look at United as a team of individuals rather than a cohesive unit (which it is) it's not even particularly good individuals is it? Even if you're a "small" side and United start liquidating on the cheap, what players would you actually want on your own team?

I was thinking about that earlier. Just from Dortmund to Manchester it seems likes City got quite better deals than United. They bought Gundogan years ago and i'd probably rather have him than anybody on the current Manure squad.

Aye....Dea Gea's feet are radioactive, Maguire's a comedy reel, Ronaldo is a handsome statue unless he thinks he might be about to score...... I wouldnt put Fred or McTomminey in Celtic's midfield.

I think Sancho is one of the guys who could move to a club who knows how to use him and suddenly make those numbers make sense

Yeah it's pretty horrid. Imagine if they folded tomorrow and all the players went up for auction like it was an estate sale. There would be more reporters in attendance than bidders.

Out there machines exist where each of those individual cogs would function well. But right now:

Think about all of the high priced players they've brought that failed since Fergie retired. Here are some:

    Falcao
    Alexis Sanchez
    Angel Di Maria
    Pogba for 100 million
    Cavani
    Ronaldo!
