I like it. I just think the main character is a cunt, in a funny way.

I watched the special I referred to on a flight back from England. I was dying laughing on the plane. Steve Coogan plays a host of characters brilliantly.

Steve Coogan himself is a bit of a bellend, but Alan Partridge is genius. I haven't really enjoyed anything else he's done, so I think it might be his moment where everything clicked and he captured lightning in a bottle. He's milking it for all it's worth and to be fair to him I would have done the exact same. Also worth pointing out that unlike Gervais with David Brent post-The Office he's gotten wayyyyyyyyyyy more good material out of the character.

I am with Calig though, he was excellent in 24 Hour Party People. He seems to thrive playing those kind of oblivious and unaware cringe characters.

Actually, I correct myself again, he was great in all the Chris Morris Brasseye/Day Today stuff too, though he was kind of outshone and it was just wonderfully written material. I suppose I'm saying I just haven't enjoyed any of his other long-running character stuff, Tony Ferrino, Paul Calf etc

Technically they parted ways on a "mutual agreement."

You knew the end was near when a reporter asked Poch toward the end of the season if he thought he'd be back next season and he responded by asking "Who said I wanted to come back?"

You guys hoping for Potter know that he plays a very low scoring style, right?

Like hoping to win every match 1-0.

Would that work for the national team?

The Brasseye 'Paedogeddan' remains one of the most fabulous pieces of television ever produced. Years ahead of is time and utterly brilliant.

Eddie Howe trending in Twitter. Probably nothing to it. Just the usual internet buzz during the interlude that is mid-July to mid-August.

Howe has too much going for him right now.

It's pathetic. Southgate was a willing battering ram for various cultural diktats and dogmas and to see these .middle-class fucks parasitizing the daylights out of a sport that is predominantly supported and financed by people they hate is most aggrieving.

They tell you how African the French team is. Then when the Argentina say the French players all come from "Angola"......an apology is demanded.

    But.....
