Aye I think you've hit on the guaranteed winning formula.

High protein, err towards paleo as much as possible, rotation of regular/ repeated meals, dont skip meals, stay active via much walking or work, weight train enough to retain muscle. Add time.

Stay within that framework and we'll all trend towards optimal then stay there til we croak.

Final rule for myself: stay below 20 damn pints a week.

Fan favourite Reo Hatate apparently turns down a contract. The support is teetering towards the cliff edge of outright revolt already, things far from well. The board better get the cheque book out & right the ship this week

I've a big bag of Banana flavoured budget protein. I've just been out to Barnes Common for a run with the dug. Two km up two km back. Cool off while herself chases a ball like a loon. So the legs were nice and sore and justified a few scoops of the powder. Threw in some Wensleydale with cranberries and a banana on the side. I'll defrost a steak for tonight and probably stick in a 5k walk in Richmond Park.

Then Fri/Sat are work nights. That will mean back to back runs. I'll miss the fuckin Usyk Vs DuBois fight.

Yeah the akkahol..... I saw a lot of that at the weekend. A lot. That and coke and very low grade breakfasts with Quorn sausages....I was ordering Burratas and eating them like apples. Sat at the table like Dorian Yates surrounded by fat-skinny mortals.

"oh are you REEEEELY going to eat all that cheese"??

Full football watching day for me.

Currently watching Hibs vs Villa (Villa just scored).

Several South American matches of interest to watch later.

Villa is (unsurprisingly) destroying Hibs. 3-0 before halftime.

This could be an ugly aggregate score by the end of the second leg, although I guess Villa will rest a load of players as the job is basically done already.

I just refreshed myself on Chelsea's transfer activity the last two seasons. Then looked at their team stats since then. Comedy gold!

And even though they've made some good money this season by selling players (unlike last year when some of their best guys all fucked off for free), they're still a fucking mess. Lukaku & Hudson-Odoi don't even have assigned numbers.

With all of the players they've sold and all that money that's come in, they're still £122 million in the hole this window.

Yeah, Villa can totally take their foot off the gas in the second leg.

Hibs hasn't a prayer of coming back from 0-5.

Its one of those scenarios where Hibs might put up what seems like a plucky, competitive showing

I suspect Villa will open up in the 2nd leg like they did against Liverpool's kids in the league Cup the year the Liverpool squad was down at the Club World Championship.

    Realistic assessment, 2023:

    Celtic- relegation battle premiership
    Rangers- high end championship
Hearts & aberdeen - relegation battle championship
Hibs - mid to high end division one
Everyone else 4th tier or lower

Well if you look back at last year,Liverpool did Rangers 9-0 on aggregate including a 7-0 trouncing at Ibrox. That would suggest a serious gulf.

I think Celtic could compete with Brentford,Villa.

But there's just no room for Hibs, Kilmarnock, etc.

Rangers performance in the prior years Europa where they knocked out dortmund, villareal etc was overachieving but i think the CL performances were underachieving. Knock out PSV in the playoff then ship an 8-1 aggregate to Ajax two months later who finished 1 point above PSV. Truth lies somewhere in between

Celtic? I think if Ange had stayed we wouldve been better again this season - equivalent to low midtable prem. But he didnt so we'll be worse. Maybe much worse, we'll see

But all thats just arguing about bumps on the overall trendline downwards. Brentford now gets given more money for, like, existing than Celtic & Rangers get combined for selling 100,000 season tickets, so we're rumaging in the bin for leftovers & it'll just get worse

I didn't watch much of it to be fair, but from what I saw of the women's world cup, Earps was actually a decent keeper. Female keepers are RUBBISH, but she knew what she was doing. Quite liked her, decent player.

Salah to Al Ittihad or somebody.

Doku in at City from Rennes.

Montiel in at Forest. World Cup Winner with Argentina.

Wolves knock back £47m bid from City for Nunes.

Al Ittihad ready to let Jota go already.

Aberdeen got a 2-2 draw with somebody called Hacken of Sweden.

Hearts 1-1 Vs PAOK Athens so far.

"Manchester United reject bids for England Keeper Mary Earps".

    HUGE IF TRUE :Jest:

World Record too ..... ........ ........ "for a keeper in the women's game".

Why not just say "for a woman goalkeeper".??

Aye. I agree, it's a nonsense fuss but the weird thing is, if there was a women's footballer from that team who would inspire future female players, it was actually her. She was the only woman goalkeeper I actually thought was decent.

Has Salah actually gone? Ffs I know I rip on the Prem and the irony of its best players leaving for Saudi and chickens coming home to roost etc, but I'd be genuinely gutted to see Salah leave. A wonderful player.
