Whilst I agree, who do you get in? We had a chance to get Klopp in and blew it. Who do we get in now who isn't going to revert to the default, I never saw Tuchel doing that myself. I thought under him, if we were going to go out, it would be with no reserves left in the tank.

 

I suspect he just thought that they couldn't do it any other way once Argentina started to pout it on. Kane has disappeared in the last two rounds, Rice was clearly not fit, Bellingham was out of sorts....for all the talk of England's depth, only Anderson and Spence emerges with credit from today, plus Pickford wasn't at fault.

Argentina only started to put it on after the subs. Tuchel reverted to Southgate mode almost immediately.
