Through all the bullshit in that article, he did manage to get two things right...first, accurately describe Briggs as "a huge underdog", and second, note that there is a group of "so called experts" and then make it clear he was not one of them.

 

Ironically, I have no actual "position" to support. What "position" am I trying to support?

The others are supposing that the Klitschko's are bad for boxing because Briggs took a title fight that Haye and friends didn't want. That's their position. Now that's a pretty shaky foxhole, I'll grant you.

Mine is that with the mess of Super 6, Pac-Mayweather not happening and the general funk across the sport, the Hvy Wt division is the least of anyone elses worries.

It was a fair and decent scrap up until Briggs people and the referee brought the game into disrepute.

Because I've grown tired of most boxing that's televised on the two, don't watch any of their original programming, and said fuck it, why am I paying money to either when their product is as bad as it is, cancelled both, got a netflix account instead, and on the occasion there is a fight I'm interested in that's televised by either, I'll watch it somewhere or get a copy of it later.

Well, between you and I, I think the heavyweight division is not all that strong, but relatively speaking, it is as strong as the rest of boxing, and at least it's two best fighters are prepared to fight often and will genuinely take on anyone.

This notion that they play home field advantage excessively is BS.

Look at Ward and Dirrell. That is what the spleen of boxing fans should be directed at now.

Not Vitali, Vitali has had 6 fights in 24 months against Sam Peter, Gomez, Arreola, Johnson, Sosnowski and Briggs.

Probably one of the better resume out there over the last 2 years.
