Just because I am able to see that Mosley was a guy who was discouraged numerous times from going "all out" to win and you aren't, doesn't mean I think of Mosley as being a Lou Bizzarro-level fighter.

Bizzarro was a feather-fisted, running fringe contender. He fought a disgraceful fight in his one chance against Duran, making no attempt to win. He showed a lot of guts in getting up from a bunch of horrifying knockdowns, but other than that he did nothing but run away.

Only a maniac would think Mosley was that bad. You seem to equate not believing Mosley is a brave legend with believing Mosley was a horrible fighter.

if duran was around when mosley was at lightweight i think it would have been an excellent, competitive fight.

and i think it makes your analogy a poor one, in that case.

so, maybe he would have instead been relegated to Edwin Viruet status, which is still respectable

    He's not beating Duran

Randy was a real good and tough, but unspectacular fighter.

The guy reminded me of the Quarry's in that he didn't slip a lot of punches, and he beat Ray Leonard to win the national amateur title.

Pete Ranzany cleaned his plow in a big fight at the time, but Randy would have been too good for Primera.
