Rd 11 Vic very frustrated, getting owned and can't get off. Lunges in, misses, gets countered EVERY time. Agbeko can't miss with the right. Vic is trying but nothing working. He looks like shit, fighting like a crab in a clown suit. Nice left by Vic, but countered again, Vic can't work out the herky jerky Agbeko. Vic just getitng dirty now. Agbeko 10-9. Easy fight for him.
Rd 12. Meh who cares, it's over for Vic, more of the same. Vic lands a couple but nothign of mention. Agbeko lands at will with the right. Agbeko 10-9 My card Agbeko 116-111
Yeah that's just dumb, even my 116-111 was with gifting Vic a round and scoring the knockdown round a 10-8. Jake ended up with 116-112, acceptable score.::
By my count Jake gave the 7-9th to Agbeko? had one of them even (assuming it was the 7th) I had 116-111 with almost identical scoring to you punk, but idk wtf. is going on
I fucked up the first round, and noticed after the second that I scored the round for the "wrong corner." You score for either Red Corner or Blue Corner - the co-feature had King's fighter in Blue and Shaw's fighter in Red. I followed suit for the main event in the first round, scoring for "Blue Corner", and almost went on auto pilot for the second before catching myself. However, I didn't realize until I saw the master score that my card was even, even though my running tally had Agbeko up 4-2 at that point. They corrected the mistake on air, which is why my card wound up looking like I was playing catchup. Basically, I had each half 4-2 for Agbeko for an 8-4 tally. I also scored the 7th 10-9 for Vic instead of 10-8. I had Agbeko winning the round but had to score the bogus KD since the ref ruled it as such. I liked the old way better. They had the fighters names and you just flipped over a 10 on one side and 9 or less on the other. Anyway, I wound up with a more accurate score than two of the official judges.
I scored the 7th 10-9 for Vic. The confusion came in one of the earlier rounds being scored wrong and later corrected.
Blue and Red corner. Sometimes you really have to wonder about boxing. I guess it is done, because some reporters from big outlets really can´t tell Agbeko from Darchinyan, but if a press row scorer can´t, he shouldn´t be scoring. Damn I hated to read your R-B-R at Boxingscene of Braithwaite/Cunningham. Just reading your posts about the first two rounds, I knew my under bet was fucked. ::::
On what planet is it easier to distinguish red corner from blue corner, rather than one boxer from another? I mean seriously. But anyway Jake, you need to be more on the ball, no doubt, I don't expect any more errors from you.
THOUGHTS ON THE FIGHT I felt Vic may have won rd 1, but in the very next rd Agbeko started moving his head side to side and Vic who is normally accurate as shit couldn't touch him for nearly the whole fight. It was sad how often Vic missed punches, he made Agbeko look like fucking Sweet Pea in there! I thought the 7th rd was the first rd where Vic seemed to lose confidence that he could win the fight. Agbeko appeared to seriously tire in the 9th, but came back stronger in the next few rds. Any score that didn't have Agbeko winning by at least 4 pts is BS. I love how when a judge or referee in professional sports dosen't see something happen they just make a fucking guess. That's what this ref did and there needs to be some kind of change to fix this. Let him be allowed to do a video replay check between rds as it won't affect the fight. This isn't the 60's, we have the technology to make scoring/calls more accurate so why won't they use it? :dunno:
I have sat at press row with reporters from big newspapers, who would frequently ask, who is winning, or who the boxers are. They can´t be bothered to pay any attention. They are basically there to eat for free, and get back ringside for the last fight.
I'll keep that in mind the next time their bogus scores flash across the screen. I don't know why they show press row scorecards anyway.
Maybe I should tell you I used to sit ringside in Germany, where most boxing reporters are dumb as shit. It´s really sad that there is a language barrier. German commentary would make for a great reality comedy format in Mexico and the US. Bodypunches are always fouls and don´t count in scoring, workrate and landing 400 of 1000, instead of 60 of 200 is considered a lack of skill. Punching out of a clinch is fouling. If you consistently knock people out, that is not considered a sign of skill in Germany, but a sign that you can´t box.
Vic needs to move back down. He is not very skilled. If he does not have the power to hurt someone he can't win and that is all that happened last night. The African fighter had very little balls. He landed every punch he threw and still never came close to stopping a very chinny vic. As for the undercard, Demarco might end up in the morgue against Valero.
oh ok, well I had it similar to you. I can't imagine watching it live and thinking Vic was doing damage. At least 10 times a round, Agbeko would square up and plant a lead right into Vic's face, over and over. I didn't think the fight was close at all by the end of it. Yes there were some close rounds, I think i ended up giving Vic something like 2,7,9 with the KD, but it was not overall competitive. What did the DeMarco camp say after the fight about their boy being well controlled by a guy willing to take a dive rather than fight.
I hate to break it to you, but Adjaho didn´t go down, because he wanted to knee-fuck the canvas so badly, he was hurt by the guy he controlled so well and looked for a cheap way out, while still getting the W.
