I still have HBO. For the sole purpose of being an HBO sub means you get MAX for free, and MAX does have a shitload of great content. That wouldnt have been the case had HBO canceled boxing in 1997, because at the time, they had nothing else to offer in terms of originality besides boxing, which I touched upon earlier. But in the end, for every guy like you, who was paying for HBO just for boxing, there were nine others who were subbing to HBO because of their original, scripted content. I'm not underrating boxing, I'm being realistic. Paramount didn't get out of the sporting business altogether; they still feature the NFL, and like 5-6 different soccer leagues, mainly the Champions League. They obviously determined that it was BOXING that was a loss leader for them.
Other than the streaming wars, the other thing that killed boxing on HBO and Showtime was the PPV model and fighter inactivity. In 1997, when Oscar fought 3-4 times per year, and 75% of those fights were regular HBO instead of PPV, then I'm sure at the time boxing was a very profitable sport. Roy and Hamed were also fighting regularly, and always on regular HBO. By 2018, when the big stars only fight once per year, and that only fight is an expensive ass PPV that they (HBO/Showtime) have to foot the extra bill for, then... what's the point? So streaming killed HBO/Showtime boxing, AND boxing killed itself.
The rematch would likely be Fox PPV. Unless Jeff Bezos decides that he wants our sport on his platform. Then maybe it goes on Prime.

Thurman vs. Stan is a good fight. Too bad. But would've been same night as DAZN Haney/Prograis fight.
Haney-Prograis will be the final PPV I order this year. I have no intention to order Benavidez-Andrade.
Jc martinez postponed his fight Saturday due to visa issues. Bout the 10th time he done this shit Fagget
