I dont know another fighter that does what Silva does, you guys talk about Fedor and by the sound of things he is similiar to Silva.

I just think it is refreshing to see these two guys putting their money where their mouth is and backing up the BS, a hell of a lot of boxers could learn from this.

It was by an illegal elbow seconds into the fight. If you actually counting that as a loss than you are a true hater.

In fact MMA needs to learn from boxing, with all the different promoters working together to make fights.

Give it up....Despite what Fedor did, 2 or 3 years ago, Silva, coming off of this win, IS the #1 p4p fighter in the sport today....If GSP dominates Serra, he jumps ahead of Fedor also....Fedor has got to start fighting more

Doesnt matter in MMA....its not the same as in boxing.....1 or 2 or 8 losses wont ruin your career....Its more about what you've done in your past 5-10 fights

Name a boxer and I'll name someone he won't fight. All boxers duck n dive at certain stages....

How many times do we hear to much risk not enough reward...??

The shit just aint in Silva's vocabulary.

    Griffin stopped Roy on cuts?

Roy got DQ'd. Is that what happened to Fedor?

    better example is lewis-vitali

lewis beat vitali on cuts and everyone was bitching

though he has better claim to a victory than the guy who beat fedor

atleast lewis beat on vitali and caused the cuts legally

I will stop talkiong about that loss, it really isn't fair to act like it is legit.

What happens when Fedor fights in an MMA promotion that does allow elbows? Is this new promotion that Fedor fights for allowing elbows?

honestly, he'll probably benefit from it more than anything....yes, he does swell a ton and cut very easily, but his GnP, next to GSP's, is among the best in the game, and would only stand to improve with the addition of elbows

I think the point however, was how would his ground defense translate, to the addition of elbows. Obviously, anyone's offensive game improves when an extra weapon is allowed.

Sherdog is terrible. Even the "good" posters suck, for the most part. The average level of shit there is a lot higher than every message board I visit frequently...

    Silva is a beast.

I do recognize what RJJp4p is saying though. Dan won the first round. That isn't even debatable. But that is just the problem with Silva. It didn't phase him at all. didn't take him out of his gameplan and he capotilizes like no one else in the sport. I think the biggest problem Silva will face is lack of competition.

Silva is hardly unbeatable. It's like you guys have only just started watching him fight. He beat an old, Dan Henderson. It's still Dan Henderson...but even in his best days, Dan was a 5 minute fighter, who either got you early, or did enough damage to assert control and then began to grind with his wrestling.

Well to the best of my knowledge Franklin was the best middleweight bar none.... and silva took him to school twice. Of course he is beatable but you gotta admit he is one impressive fighter.

That's sort of what I think, Franklin was overrated to fuck.

And I said in another thread, Henderson is old, no doubt about it. He started to look his age against Rampage.

Still, Silva is a beast no doubt, and he's great to watch.
