Possibly 2nd. But Manny was definitely in the corner, and the Brewster fight was probably the worst of his three losses, which was the point I was making, yeah, innit.
Barrera, Malignaggi, Judah, and Kotelnik are all better than anyone Wald Pussy has fought. Maidana probably is too. Wald Pussy is shit. His competition is shittier.
I guess. It wasn't really meant to be. Top 10 in almost any given year might be closer to my opinion.
Maybe I underrate Haye, but I really don't think so. In any semi modern era, I think this is the only one where Haye is a top heavyweight. If he can't hurt you with single punches, he's not very good, and he couldn't even hurt wald pussy. I think Corrie Sanders would have beaten Haye.
Haye/Sanders is a perfect 50/50 fight, imo. With his shit together Sanders is a top 10 guy too in most years, imo. It isn't as high praise as it sounds, really http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/The_Ring_Magazine's_Annual_Ratings
I've heard talk of Enzo Calzaghe but Amir cannot fight like Joe. Joe had far more talent, skill, and brains. Plus Joe had the chin to fight in that aggressive style whereas Amir does not. I think Manny Steward(Overrated as he is) is the perfect fit. He won't make Khan great, but he'll at least try to help him stay out of exchanges that can get him KTFO.
Barrera? At light-weight? In 2008? The guy was barely a name and they never let him fight on and pulled the plug soon as they could. Just what has Kotelnik done that trumps what Chagaev did, amateur or pro. Fuck Khan. Fuck him right in his Ramadan Glass Neck.
Corrie Sanders is a weird one. He was so limited, dodgy chin and stamina, but beastly offense. He was capable of beating a lot of people. Must admit I always had a soft spot for Sanders, he's one of the only heavies I've liked since Tyson. Partly because of how hilarious he is. A cross between Tom Selleck and a frumpy uncle, with these bizarrely fast hands and beastly power ::
