Murray just got picked apart, exposed, and destroyed by Kevin Mitchell. So what do they do? Put him in with Brandon Rios.:::::: I cant see how this will be ANY different than Rios-Antillion. Bam Bam within 3.
As a Rios fan, I'm kinda disappointed by this fight. Murray is actually a step DOWN from Antillion. I'd pick Antillion to beat Murray. Shit, I wish he would have at least fought the WINNER of the Mitchell-Murray matchup. I mean, Rios would murder Mitchell as well.... but at least Mitchell might last longer, and be more competitve than Murray.
Murray is cashing out is all. That said you can believe he will be a damn sight more competitive vs Rios before he falls than most here would expect. It's not like Mitchell is a complete bum. Murray doesn't live the life of a fighter, and Mitchell had recently re-dedicated himself to the sport, and was always a decent boxer- good enough to negotiate Breidis Prescott and barely missed a beat in doing so. Murray will go down swinging but its unlikely he bitches out quite as bad as Peterson.
On a youtube Video Rios said he wanted Mitchell but for some reason it couldn't be made...something to do with Mitchell not being able to travel(legal problems) or some shit..
I'm not making any predictions for this one. Murray may do better than I think. I realistically can't see him lasting more than 5-6 rounds. He'll be desperate to prove his worth tho. He'll go down swinging, but he won't be very effective against a far superior opponent as in Rios. He just may unearth some flaws in Rios as Barker did with Martinez.
Murray doesnt the ability to expose ANY flaws in Rios. As I said, Murray is NOT AS GOOD as Antillion. Antillion was able to give Soto a life and death fight. Would Murray do that? Hell no! Murray has NOTHING for Rios. Nothing at all!
agREED. And if you think about it, Murray is a step down from Antillon, who is a step down from Acosta. I understand that Arum had to do something w/ Antillon after Soto flew the coop. That's fine. But this fight? I don't get how everyone in the media is jerking off over it as if it's a P4P matchup, that it;s the final piece to the greatest undercard in two decades. This will be a train wreck. Only because Rios couldn't spell defense if you spotted him the D, F and all of the E's, do I refrain from predicting that Murray doesn't win a second of this fight. He'll have his moments, but otherwise won't be remotely competitive.
Defensively, Murray isn't half what Barker was, he won't keep a high guard and he will try to trade openly. Frankie Gavin vs Rios is a much much closer fight, but Frankie prefers to drink and train on raw opiates and blue agave. Murray must be cashing out, he too is destined for a pickled liver by the age of 40.
This will be on Boxnation. Rios is too precise, too strong and on a whole different level to Murray. Rios in 4.
Fair play to Warren. Although we both know he will be looking for MORE than £10 when the time comes. Whats the venue for this mooted Rios fight??
Murray is not MSG quality. The only difference is that neither are Rios or Margarito. I just hope Murray gives a good enough account of himself to force MWS to abandon this ridiculous notion he has of Tszyu being beaten by Rios.
Tszyu is a front running scrub. Rios would beat him down and break his spirit, just like Cool Vince and Hatton did.
Rios, as stated, would become a full time Freddie-Roach impressionist by the time Tszyu was through with him.
This running joke has gotta stop. I say as a Rios fan, that prime Tszyu would beat the ever living fucking shit outta him. It would NOT be pretty in the least bit. Hell, prime Hatton gives Rios a beatdown as well.
