He's done. http://www.mmafighting.com/2014/6/30/5859390/ufc-and-fox-sports-part-ways-with-chael-sonnen
It's a shame, because Sonnen was really good in his behind the desk role. I never really cared for him as a fighter but he came off very well hosting shows, conducting interviews, giving analysis, etc. TFK
I think it's a shame too. He was never my favorite as a fighter, but he was fun to listen to as an analyst. He has a charismatic personality when he's doing interviews, and he knows more about the sport than most guys out there. He should have retired as soon as it was clear they weren't going to allow TRT. Trying to fight one more time (and cheat one more time) ruined everything. I don't know why he did it or why he thought he'd get away with it this time.
It's not a shame, it's justice. It's a shame that non-cheating fighters weren't given Sonnen's opportunities.
Agreed, idiot move. Can't help but feel a bit sorry for him though, as he is quite likeable as an analyst and broadcast personality.
How is it a "shame"? This a guy with wins over clean fighters like Bisping , Stann and Dan Miller. That's the shame.
definitely a shame. But IMO there is no way the UFC and Sonnen are parting ways. I think this is just a break, and sonnen will be back.
