I think so, better than many will give him. For one thing Bruno is probably bigger than anybody Sonny encountered and he wasn't a lumbering oaf like so many of today's heavyweights.
Tough fight. I think Frank could win but history has shown that if his opponent takes him deep Bruno's shitty gas tank and poor recuperative powers doom him. Liston has some give in him but Frank isn't Ali. I think Liston wins a battle of power jabs, busts up Bruno and eventually gets to him late.
No. He'll fight well, probably winning rounds behind the jab until he finds a way to lose spectacularly. That what Frank does. He had the tools, but not the mentality to do the job. MTF
Put Bruno into today's HW division and he probably looks monsterous. I'd pick him to light AJ up real fast and as long as he doesn't walk into something big, he'd KO Wilder, too. The problem is that he's great at losing big fights he might win. That's what does for him, here. MTF
Yeah, I'd give Bruno an excellent chance against AJ and I'd favor him over the Bama bum, but Liston was obviously a different class.
Frank was good, maybe even very good. His fight with Lennox was a belter; he acquited himself really well until he got clipped. That's Frank in a nutshell. He acquits himself really well, until he gets clipped. He was elite at taking out trash. Put him in a big fight and he finds a way to lose. The McCall fight was a freak occurrence, and he near found a way to lose that at the end. Liston was a level above Spoon, Bonecrusher etc. Frank doesn't win in a month of Sunday's. MTF
