It's not even a very good proxy (terrible word choice, btw). The majority of the people I've met with PhDs (I've known quite a few, co-authored a book with one) have been utter dumbasses, you're only conforming to & confirming the standard.

Also, "English is my 2nd language" isn't an excuse for your atrocious babble, you sound like a moron. I'm curious where you live that you earned a PhD while barely being able to communicate in English at all, most people I know overseas with a mere lowly bachelors come across as more "educated" than you do.
