es do that - give a a round he clearly lost so that later in the fight they can determine the winner. it's totally corrupt, but one thing it doesdo is add cobditioning asa scoring criyeria, e=which i'm noy so opposed to/

Taylor to me is like a kid that maybe played B-bal or something else.. football, a good athlete, he turned to boxing but is basically a bum but an athlete, kinda like Grant. Just like some drunk bar bums can do ok in tough man.. some good athletes can do ok in boxing but at the root of the matter they are bums

just cuz you pour Syrup on shit, don't make it pancakes

You all act like Taylor fought a better fight. He didn't. He fought safer and he conserverd his energy is all he did. Pavlik showed he could go 12 hard rounds, something he's never done before. Before this fight he had only gone 9 rounds. Taylor clearly lost the fight, a draw or a win for Taylor would have been complete BS and anyone who scored it that way it out of their damn mind.

Taylor is a very good fighter, of course it is a hard fight for Pavlik and anyone else from 160-168, Taylor is no push over for anyone. I don't care how many close decisions he's had he has proved he is at the top of the game.

Pavlik now beat Taylor by KO and UD. He proved he could do it both ways and that he's just plain better than Taylor no matter how you look at it. Good competitive fight and the right guy got the decision.

    I scored it 116-112 Pavlik.

Taylor is a top fighter no matter how you look at it bro. You don't beat Hopkins twice and draw with Winky if you're a bum. Taylor will be trouble for a lot of guys at 168.

agreed. just because he didn't get knocked out, doesn't mean he fought better. he fought safer. his defense was a little better, but that's to be expected when you're throwing half as many shots.

to me, it looked like taylor went in there with his primary goal being not to get knocked out. this means his goal could not have been winning (although in the back of his mind he probably thought if he could go 12 he'd get another gift decision).

He made good adjustments on defence. He also stayed off of the ropes. His biggest problems was his stamina. He threw less punches because he didn't want to get tired like last time. He had a good game plan Pavlik won the fight by throwing more punches.

    Fundamentally, I agree with this.

As I said before, Taylor fought in a way which meant he was much less likely to get KTFO again, but equally, he also took away his only realistic chance of winning (by trying to blast Kelly out like he tried and almost did first time out).

Kelly did what he had to do- as you say, he is the best at 160 right now and that's that.

i know why he threw fewer punches. but ask yourself this. why was he afraid of running out of gas? because if he did, he'd be knocked out. so his strategy was built around not getting knocked out. and obviously, it was not a winning strategy, although it might have been a smart one seeing as how his stock has no doubt elevated since his first loss to pavlik.

    I had Pavlik winning 8-4.

I think all of the above, bro.

I am pleased at the adjustments Taylor made - picking up Pavlik's right hand, shortening/straightening his shots more, pacing himself, keeping his hands up and staying off the ropes.

He did perform even better than he did in the 1st fight, and frankly I didn't think that was possible.

I also believe Pavlik was a little bit flat, regardless of Jermain's performance, honestly.

Kelly was looking for his right hand to deliver the same as first fight and he took too long to make adjustments. He stuck to his jab and dialed it up more and more, which was very good. He also finally started to go to the body, but too little too late.

He was sloppy from the beginning IMHO and looked a little sluggish.

Also, we must keep in mind that Taylor didn't provide as many opportunities this time around for exchanges, which is where Pavlik would excel.

Taylor fought well within the pocket and was conservative and tried to give no openings.

I don't think much changed for either man in terms of my appreciation of what they can do.

Taylor gets higher marks for actually fighting a bit better than the first fight, where he had upped his game to begin with.

    Peace.

a lot. against hearns he did it in both fights. he did it against duran and he did it against hagler most of all. he's a serial round stealer. deal with it. he's also a wife beating coke sniffer.
