I disagree ... he was a pure psychopath... the kind that excels in an environment like that ... realistic character to me

yeah. still liked stanfield. the transition from the older generation (avon ,stringer, prop joe) to the new generation - hungrier, meaner - made sense.

The ending has a lot of cycles (Bubs/Dukie, Omar/Michael, Jimmy/Syndor), but also I think it was David Simon who pointed out that Marlo has what Stringer wanted, but didn’t want it. He had all these access to business contacts and opportunities, but left a big business gathering to start a fight on the corner and almost got killed. The punishment Marlo got was no longer being King of West Baltimore and not being a big name in the streets.

Even in death, Omar has what Marlo wanted. The guys on the corner have no idea who Marlo is, but are still talking about Omar.

How much do you think the decline in the quality of HBO Boxing has to do with the great rise of their quality TV shows and miniseries? The first Boxing After Dark broadcast was fucking Barrera-McKinney, a classic fight featuring an ATG.

HBO pushing boxing aside because of the money in their TV shows like Game of Thrones?

I’d say it’s almost zero. I think the loss in quality of HBO’s boxing over the years has more to do with a smaller pool of talented boxers rather than a stronger focus being put on mini series. It isn’t like another network has surpassed HBO’s boxing.

It isn't? Totally disagree. Not only has Showtime upped its game tremendously, but sport's top fighters now consistently appear on espn as we. You can argue the sport as a whole has declined (people have been making that silly case for decades). But i'm talking about a much shorter term trend in which hbo has quite obviously lost its position as the sport's top network. Interestingly, richard schaefer predicted this would occur and he was correct.

The decline of hbo can be traced to when kery davis took over for dibella. The latter is a douchebag and a sham of a promoter but he was excellent in his role as matchmaker. Davis is a crook and began the cycle of incest

Davis is somehow now the AD for Howard university
