Danny Roman's boxing is a beautiful. Granted, the guy he fought wasn't very skillful, but it was a great exhibition. Very fun to watch.
Of course he wouldn't, Spence would destroy him, and Spence would stop Crawford for sure. To put it in perspective, most people would pick Spence to move up and beat Canelo head to head right? He's simply much better and wouldn't be at a significant size disadvantage. But the idea if Crawford beating Canelo would be comical. Even if people think he's better P4P, Canelo just seems too big. Therefore it seems ludicrous to me that anyone really believes Crawford beats Spence.
147 is probably Crawford's limit, Spence is obviously going to move up in the future. Not sure of the relevance though, they're the same weight now. Would Mayweather have been competitive with Hopkins? Not very likely, didn't mean De La Hoya slaughtered him though.
Bernard Had a Looooooonger Shelf Life Than Most. The Version of BHop that Stopped Glen Johnson and Tito Trinidad Slaughters DeLa for Sure.... REED
Even still, it would have been an unfair fight if Hopkins had fought Mayweather, just too big, it was seen as ok for De La Hoya to fight him though, and De La Hoya-Mayweather still happened. I was just responding to Mex's point that because Spence could go up in weight to fight Canelo and Crawford couldn't, it would mean Spence slaughters Crawford.
The obvious difference is that Spence is prime and DLH was at the very end of his career. I doubt Floyd or PAC would’ve moved to welter if prime versions of Dlh and Trinidad were there. A better example would be Trinidad and DLH since left his prime when he left welter after moving thru divisions while Trinidad was able to move up and still be prime.
The thought of Crawford beating Canelo when Canelo was at junior middle isn't far fetched AT ALL. Please, understand this... Canelo is trash. The gap in ability and skill is so huge between TC and Canelo that it'd be ridiculous to write off Crawford. TC could very well outclass and clown that slow footed, spurt fighting juicer. As for Spence vs Canelo, I've been saying for YEARS that Spence would beat him. Spence would beat the fuck outta Canelo imo.
Crawford is too damn good to get "slaughtered". And that's coming from the second biggest Spence fan on the forum behind REED. I think Spence beats him, and in fact, probably stops him late... but it'd be foolish to think that Crawford doesn't give Spence problems. He's too good not to. The difference in the end will be Spence is too strong, too relentless, and with too much firepower.
looking back in boxing history which southpaws are as good or better than spence at going to the body?
Off the top...not many... if any. If you wanna go way back, Vincente Saldivar was a southpaw who was a great body puncher, but I can't say I've ever seen a SP who was AS devastating and consistent to the body as Spence. For too long, you had an entire generation of young fighters who neglected the body... but Spence certainly has a throwback mentality in killing the body before the head dies.
Why do you think Spence would slaughter Crawford? Is Crawford hitable? Does Crawford have a bad chin? Is Crawford without skill? What's your reasoning?
Canelo’s style plays into Crawford’s hands. He would foolishly try to make him miss and counter but Crawford is by far slicker and more dynamic. If Canelo had a more aggressive style and Trinidad type power, I’d pick him. But he doesnt. Spence beats Canelo convincingly. I’m not even sure Canelo beats Jermell Charlo.
Sure I would. The current Crawford is at least AS GOOD as a 36 yr old Floyd, if not better. What in the living fuck makes Canelo the favorite? I repeat... Canelo is trash. I feel Crawford come in at a 151 and school Canelo at 154. Canelo doesn't have a height NOR reach advantage over TC. I think Crawford is an inch taller, and has longer arms.
Canelo is very hard to beat. It looks easy based on the fact that he has no razzle dazzle, fights in spurts and is not especially fast or powerful but he's smart, tough, got good snappy power, decent speed, more elusive than you realize. People love to hate on him...maybe because he's a ginger mexican, maybe because of his popularity...but there's a reason why he's only lost one fight. GGG had hell with Canelo. Sure...more people think GGG won than not, but the fact is that the fight was competitive and I happen to think that at 160, GGG is far more formidable than Spence would be.
If Crawford faced the same quality of opposition Canelo did, he'd have a a few defeats on his record. Canelo would also have mopped the floor with the jetsam Crawford feast on
